Let me be clear about something, while I have no interest in buying one of these they are absolutely positively going to sell like crazy! There are many people in this world who want to be different and this will absolutely fill that niche! Before any of you tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about just remember, you don’t either!

I get that there are tons of weirdos and millions of deposits on these.

But then I go back to the “dozens” of Hummer EVs sold so far this year.

We shall see how many actually get delivered.

I’m betting the first round will be some die hard fanatics and flippers. When the dust settles I’m not sure what will be left.

Look at the Model S and X plaid. They dropped the prices $50,000 this year for a reason.

The market for 1,000 hp daily drivers is very small.

I was able to see this Cybertruck in person at the Westfield Montgomery Mall Tesla Store (Bethesda, MD).



Some folks say pictures don’t do it justice. Yes, they do. Since we couldn’t even touch it and they didn’t have any real specs, there were no real surprises seeing it in person. It was just as ugly in person as the pictures I’ve seen. Although, today I did realize just how much it looks like a refrigerator.

Specs? I read 125 -175 and 250 kWh battery pack size. With the rumored 500 mile range for the largest battery pack, that puts it at 2.0 miles/kWh efficiency. What does your Lightening get miles/kWh?

What’s it take, 3 days to charge L2?

And that 3 hour “pit stop” to DC charge when you find a charger that’s throttled will suck.

I don’t think massive batteries are the range solution if it takes that much longer to charge.

How functional is it as an actual truck? I have yet to see the bed. Our F150s are for field service work. What is the bed capacity? Tool box? Still do not have any details or pictures of this (including the Frunk).
