Just thought I would show you guys how amazing the DMG looks with a digital plate.

Because I'm going to get hate and questions let me address those...

• I don't care if you disagree with me paying 900 for a license plate. I paid 75k for the car and I think it's 10000x better than CA plates asthetically.
• It's only available in CA, AZ and MI
• These are made by Reviver.
• I got the regular, not the pro for a variety of reasons but mainly because I don't care about the telemetrics in a smart car and I didn't want to drill a hole/tap the rear wiring.

Just thought I would show you guys how amazing the DMG looks with a digital plate.

I've been contemplating the Reviver plates. I actually saw one this weekend on another car and it looked pretty nice.
$899 for the standard seems a little steep to me. Also, it says that includes 1st year service plan. What does that mean? Do you have to pay extra every year after that? What does the service plan include? Is it optional?
I agree about not needing the Pro features.

I went back and forth on purchasing it about 20 times. I even ordered, cancelled and then re-ordered. I just couldn't stand the look of the standard CA white plates. I debated going with black/yellow, which would have been okay if the brakes were yellow instead of red, but ultimately I just did it completely for the aesthetics. I also like the fact that I can change the messages on the plate. Right now it's "Happy Thanksgiving!"

Do you have to pay extra every year after that? What does the service plan include? Is it optional?

Yeah their website is very deceptive about this. There's nothing anywhere that talks about this fee. The plates used to be about 1/2 of the price with a fee. I'm not sure if the fee still exists, but from what I found in forums it used to be $55 a year. In the Reviver app there's a section for "Service Plans" but mine is empty, so I'm not 100% sure if they did away with this or not. They are still a startup, so conflicting messaging is expected.

I agree about not needing the Pro features.

Going back to the startup comment, and starting 2 investor funded companies myself, an additional reason was that I didn't want to trust all of that data in the hands of a new company.

The last thing that was kinda a turn off for me was that I have friends who are in Law Enforcement and they questioned me on the legality. Although they are completely legal in CA there's a lot of cops who just don't know that. I keep the CA legislation printed out in the glove box because I know one day I'm going to be stopped because of it.

Cautionary tale:

Taking delivery of my Premium AWD DMG Nov 25 - Dec 1. I went to the dealer today to get my trade in appraised and do all the paperwork so when I do take delivery I'm not at the dealer all day. After months of emails ensuring no ADM would be applied and having a signed contract with the price the dealer tried to add $6000 in ADM.

I made a stink and showed them my contract. Even then they tried to say I'd have to pay it. Well happy to say after some thoughtful discussion my MME is back at MSRP.

Don't take crap from the dealer. Stand your ground.

Also got 0% financing for 36 months. There are some good deals from Ford until the end of the year.

Good! The dealers are absolutely awful for this. I know they've gotta keep the lights on, but this is not how to do it. Congrats on the car and the 0% Financing!
