I was particularly struck by Darren Palmer saying that 72% of all reservations are from people who have never owned a Ford before. That is remarkable and on target considering I am one of them.

That helps explain all the concern on this forum about public charging stations.
After you get your first EV, you will realize that almost all your charging occurs during your spare time when the vehicle isn't even being used. ie: At home, at work, while shopping etc....

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Hard to believe 0 attrition, but obviously people are happy and not getting fired by a dictatorial boss

Oops,
Disregard my comment. I thought it said 72% never owned an EV before.

Hard to believe there are people on this planet that haven't owned a Ford though. ??

Which is why we regularly focus on road trips being the problem. Or people that can't charge at home or work in "park it and forget it" fashion. If you can do nearly all your charging that way, there's a great benefit to owning a BEV. But it you aren't in position to do that, it's just the opposite. And it's typically a poor fit for those people.

That's why it's important to figure that all out BEFORE deciding whether to buy BEV vs ICE/PHEV.

I'm also one of those folks who've never owned a Ford, but I'm very excited to eventually own a Mach-E.

Never owned a Ford. Always wanted a Mustang but was never able to afford one. Now at 38 years old that has changed, but I also have a young family so a Mustang was not practical... until Nov 2019. ??

I have been a ford owner for 36 years. Started with an Escort estate. Had a Sierra XR4i for a little while. Both of those were used. Then things improved and I could afford new (with finance of course). Started with KA, then had a StreetKA. Had a little break for a few years as I was driving my company van, but it was still a Ford. First a Courier then 2 Transits. Back to cars, I got a new Focus CC3 convertible. That was a great car. Kept it for 10 years. Next was a Kuga Titanium X and now I am driving a Kuga STLine X AWD. With all of these Fords, old and new, I had never had an uncomfortable car and they have always driven well. This is why I am happy to keep my preorder open. I have at least sat in a MME and was certainly impressed with. I have not got any worries that it won't drive nicely. I wanted to buy a BEV last year. Before the MME was announced I put a reservation down for a Peugeot e2008. I was gutted to leave Ford but that was all that was around at that time. The Peugeot didn't work out in the end, drove a ICE version (exactly same as BEV version), driving position was rubbish, seats uncomfortable so I cancelled. 10 mins later signed up for MME. Happy to wait for what I believe will be a fabulous car. All in all, my family have owned in the region of 30 Ford's over the years. Should qualify for a loyalty bonus?

30 straight years with Ford for us. Bought a new 1990 Ranger that we had for 23 years. It became the spare vehicle a decade later when we bought two used 2001 Escapes from Hertz (they used to sell their rental cars when they got to 28,000 miles). Then we replaced those with two new 2013 Escapes we're still driving. Been extremely happy with all of them.

My dad also owned a 1966 F-100 that I learned to drive a stick shift on as a teenager in the 70's.

Our take on Ford has always been that they make great trucks and SUVs.

Very good point. If you aren't able to charge at home or work then public charging suddenly becomes much more important. Still doable....but more thought goes into that decision for sure.
