I have just been sent the final charges for my Star White Premium Mach-E and have gotten the below detail I was a bit surprised by the Doc & Pre-Delivery Inspection fees, I assumed that was baked into the $1100 Destination & Delivery fees included in the MSRP. Should I be wary of any of these charges or do they align with what you can reasonably expect?

Market Value Selling Price$49,540
Pre-Delivery Inspection$995
Nitrofill & Wheel Locks$538
Taxable Fees$221
Doc Fee$898
Tax$3,181
Non Tax Fees$644
Net Price$56,018
Cash Deposit$500
Balance$55,518

I would not accept the following: Pre-Delivery Inspection, they have to do this for every car and Ford pays them for it. Nitrofill and Wheel Locks, Nitro in tires is basically useless and unless you want wheel locks this is another charge I would not accept. This is just another way for the dealer to hide an adjustment to the MSRP and add Add Ons. With the market as it is right now they may not remove them and you will have to decide how badly you want the car.

Unless you ordered the nitro and wheel locks, have them remove that fee. Doc fee and PDI should be negotiable. Some states have a max they can charge for these others don't, no idea what FL says, but I'd argue them anyway

Never in a million years would I pay a pre-delivery inspection fee or the nitrogen snake oil. Do not accept the scamming, IMO.

"Taxable fees" & "Non tax fees"........WTF? That's simply another $865 in ADM.

Maybe it's just some rounding somewhere, but they even threw in an extra dollar out of nowhere. Adding everything up comes to $56017, but their subtotal is 56018! ?

Kevin Hunter is your friend. A great video specifically about this. Possibly the best 15 minutes you will spend this month!

I'm glad I asked you all! The breakdown definitely raised some red flags for me and you all confirmed it. I'll check out the Kevin Hunter video as well, thank you @EELinneman

Dealers never give up! You would think this stuff would not happen anymore but it just keeps popping up.

All the best. What dealer is this that is treating you like an idiot?

Yup, as others have said, Ford pays the dealer for the PDI (1.0 hours billable). I think they also receive 1% of the MSRP + $250 as further compensation for handling the delivery. Every Mach-E should have had an hour of testing and prep done before it gets to you standard.

Nitrogen in tires is a scam because air is 78% N and there's not going to be any difference in performance. If it not an airplane or a race car with critical tire performance margins you don't need nitrogen.

As for the "other" fees—they should be able to tell you what they're for. If they can't tell you what service is being provided for the fee, they can't be charging it.
