Thanks for "pointing" that out. I am in possession of particularly boney elbows and have been known to permanently dent car interiors, so it's good to know I'll need to pay attention.

But that shouldn't happen. I did it to my Integra in the late 90s but it took years of driving before anything was permanent.

Took me about 2 weeks ... I'm not sure of the exact amount of time, but I've had this there for some time and I just got around to posting about it. It's a common question I get by strangers getting in the car "what's that dent from?"

Believe it or not, this is normal on many Ford vehicles.
I have a 2016 F150 Lariat and I have the same indention in the same spot as you.

I would take it to the dealer and have them replace it under warranty. That does not look within spec.

This might be a long shot... I had a BMW X3 that got a shopping cart ding in a side door. I heated it up with a hair dryer and put some dry ice over the spot (thick gloves of course!) and actually smoothed out most of the dent. It wasn't perfect but you had to look twice to find it. It might work of plastic and wouldn't cost much to try.

That trick works on some metal dents.

But no need to use dry ice. Just use a compressed air can flipped upside down.

My elbow dent is there too, in a 2014 Fusion. It’s probably going to get worse over time.

I resr my elbow in the exact same spot on my GTPE and no dent. 5 months, 7,000 miles later. I’m voting for trim padding defect.

You just don't have fat, boney elbows!
Isn’t that an oxymoron? “Boney” and “fat”? I’ve eaten a few Hostess (<-noun clarifying word) twinkies in my day, but my elbows have never been a place I’ve put on pounds. I’m not even sure that’s possible. Like the bottom of your heel getting fat.

Hmm that looks like that could possibly be a relatively easy fix.

1. Pull body panel off
2. Push out dent
3. Put body panel back on

But yeah it's annoying that apparently it's easy to dent those body panels. I do rest my arm against that same panel sometimes... I'll have to make a mental note not to do that any more.

I just noticed today I have this exact same issue. Typically rest me elbow on the window trim while holding the steering wheel with my left hand. Noticed a dent forming where I do so.

definitely not something I’ve ever experienced in another car or would expect to experience with this one.
