I think this is Ford saying that if dealers are getting $10K market adjustments for vehicles (or more) that Ford is leaving money on the table.

If you are selling bananas to somebody for $1 per bunch. And you find out that somebody is selling them for $10 per bunch, then maybe you are going to increase your price to $3 or $5 per bunch.

Government pouring gasoline into inflation fire in that huge spending bill ironically named Inflation Reduction Act is not a conspiracy, it's a fact.
All EVs, those that qualify and those that don't will see price increases because the prices of their competitors go up, because prices of gas will go up, because prices of everything will go up.

(You know this of course) Meanwhile, at the exact same time elsewhere on this and other car & political forums of the internet, thousands of EV enthusiasts complain the new legislation immediately eliminates all existing incentives for purchasing EVs and now not a single car will qualify for the new ones. Which may be close-ish-er to the truth. Lol.

Except the price increase is not exactly $7500 and reservation holders are price protected and the $7500 tax credit is going away soon as Ford is rapidly approaching 200,000 US EV's sold, nice try though.

You know, I think you are right, orders only, not reservations.

The bill wording is "binding contract". I don't think anyone really knows how the IRS will interpret and enforce that yet. Not even sure if an order alone will do it.

Maybe you haven't been to the store lately. EVERYTHING costs more now. In Costco almost everything I buy is 30% higher than it was this time last year.
