No sir.Do you already have it in hand? I just ordered mine today from Miguel @BSKT.
Do you send Miguel your airbag cover to wrap or did you purchase a new one from him?No sir.
Ordered it about a week or so ago and I think that picture was Miguel holding mine in his hand. I should be getting a tracking number soon?
He never mentioned sending anything, and if I had to guess, and it IS just a guess, it's a Chinese sourced cover and I'd be surprised if it is oem.Do you send Miguel your airbag cover to wrap or did you purchase a new one from him?
Hey Jeff, it's difficult enough to pull the cover off with the airbag out of the steering wheel let alone trying to do it while it is attached. It's not difficult pulling the air bag, just frustrating sometimes. I've had two custom steering wheels on my GT and ordered a third one from Miguel about a month ago. I also ordered an airbag cover in leather even though I'm having the steering wheel covered in Alcantara like my Focus RS and GT500 have. I did have a custom steering wheel in my Premium 3 years ago and had the cover done in Alcantara like this:So sounds like it can be done without removing the entire airbag assembly with a trim tool and some time?
The custom covered air bag covers Miguel is selling are genuine OEM Ford. He has his guys take the trim and Mustang emblem off, recover in any material and reinstall the trim and if you want a different emblem (Ford Oval, Mustang, Shelby cobra) he will do whatever. I had the one for my Premium done in Alcantara with white stitching while the one for the GTPE is leather with silver stitching to match the GTPE interior. He never mentioned sending anything, and if I had to guess, and it IS just a guess, it's a Chinese sourced cover and I'd be surprised if it is oem.
But I can't stress enough that I have zero evidence one way or another.
I will say this though, and I don't think it would surprise Miguel one bit, but I am going to let this first product purchase determine if I have found a source for other ideas I have for this car. I waited 6 months before I decided to do any modifications. I wanted to know if this car is a keeper. I'm really really happy with how much I enjoy it, so now I'm going to address some things that I think will make it mine.

I've been working with Miguel for some time. He has an MME accessories FB page with close to 13K followers and is very passionate about his car and the MME in general. I recently helped him with the fitment of his latest staggered wheel and tire setup. He hasn't posted photos of them here yet but then he's not always well received on this forum as he is on his FB page. He has helped me with some custom items I have wanted.
One was the forged carbon fiber dash and door switch trim that no one else is making/selling. These forged trims he sells are gloss only and I wanted matte. While the gloss really shows the beauty of the forged carbon fiber, I think it's too much in the GTPE interior. He worked on this until the right matte finish was achieved. The Alcantara for my steering wheel was another thing. I could have had him cover the wheel in a similar material that Ford uses in the GTPE which would be a perfect color match. However, I wanted genuine Italian Alcantara as it wears/cleans well, feels better and I have it on two other steering wheels. Several times he sent me (from his supplier in Portugal) different Alcantara samples until I was able to find the closest one. Now I'm working on a Chinese center console with him (completely different style than rest of the world MME). I got for me the Ford parts breakdown for the console and is working with me to get the parts needed. I had contacted AOSK and another MME accessories supplier previously and both told me impossible to find and purchase any parts from China. Seems to be no issue for Miguel.
Why have I not mentioned these things before? I don't normally post a work in progress as sometimes they don't pan out. Also, I have many projects going on, am fairly busy with my 93 year old parents and travel a lot. I've changed the design of my GTPE steering wheel three times with him and the dash/door trim twice. Hopefully I'll have both of those within the month. The console has been an ongoing work in progress and don't expect that to be done, until end of the year if I'm lucky.
Miguel is going to work on that piano black trim surrounding the console when he gets a chance. He's got too many other things going on right now. His won't be cheap though as he does not manufacturer any of those trim parts in plastic or want-to-be look alike carbon fiber. His is real carbon fiber. You can buy one of these if you want: https://www.amazon.com/AOSKonology-...lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A2IB1J4HBP2C4M&th=1OK.
THAT answered a lot of questions.
If I had a social media presence I would apparently know more than I did before your post. So thanks Mark!
Really looking forward to your console project outcome. I'm not wanting to venture far from the OEM GTPE interior. Just addressing some of the visual micro-insults, as I call them. The 2 biggest being the airbag cover and the piano black surface surrounding the console.
I do kinda wish the large horizontal dash surface was a different texture or some kind of soft touch. But it's not assaultingly cheap.
It would be tempting though!
Again, thanks for sharing.
That's a good question that I have not seen the answer to since 2016 when I first started buying custom covered steering wheel air bags. They are made for every car you can imagine and I would think someone would have an answer to that. I may have missed it though.I have a question about these airbag covers. I know the stock covers are perforated on the back side so that the plastic is very thin to allow the airbag to deploy as designed. In covering the cover with leather or other material, is there any concern that this could impede proper airbag deployment?
No offense or insult meant to anyone or any manufacturer. But the Piano Black is less of a Micro-insult than plastic make-believe carbon fiber. Couldn't agree with you more. Currently I have no piano black in my car. I did use that AOSK console cover and steering wheel switch cover in my car to cover the black but can't wait for the real forged carbon fiber trims....No offense or insult meant to anyone or any manufacturer. There are many plastic surfaces and textures that would have been just fine with me. Most vehicles have perfect examples of such.
For whatever reason, Piano-Black has just worn out its welcome.
This is a concern of mine as well. The last thing I'd want is a beautiful airbag cover that won't allow the airbag to properly deploy, or worse yet, create a scenario where the cover becomes a deadly projectile.I have a question about these airbag covers.
