With my eMiata, I can put it in neutral, and rev the motor.... makes a big fan noise and if I'm on a dusty road it blow dust from under the car like a leaf blower on steroids since I've vented the motor fan 'exhaust' out thru 4" tubing....

kids at car shows LOVE it.

Tuner/tweakers raise eyebrows.... ;)

The car doesn't move faster when reved? How does that work?

Ha ha, what I would like is the V8 burble you get on startup of a V8 ICE and tick over. But it would need to be selectable as is the current 'propulsion sound' that way everyone is happy.;-)

I'm late to this one but I have two points to make:

1. That noise sounds terrible.
2. Every car should sound like the saucer from the Jetsons. Here is an example of how awesome our roads could be:

No, it's cheesy. I miss my V8 sound, but if I need it back, I'll just go buy another V8 car. I don't want to fake it.

I normally prefer the silence of electric but I think that the exterior speaker sound on the Mach-E 1400 absolutely nails it. I'd love to have the option to have that sound amplified through my speakers and mildly on the exterior speakers like when the car is put in unbridled extend.

Also, it would be nice to have a show car mode. I took my Mach-E to a Cars and Coffee and was heckled by a crowd to "rev" my car.

Can we get a mod to have this sound for unbridled & unbridled extend?

No! I would want that sound to go away as fast as possible!

I remember watching that video when it came out. Got me super excited for the Mach E.
Made me think it was going to be very track capable………. And then we learned about the 5 seconds……

Seriously? You thought it was going to be track capable? For how long? The thing weighs almost 5k lbs right? For reference, the new GT500 gets about 2.5 miles per gallon on track. You'd need incredible amounts of charging to be able to keep a Mach-E going for any extended length of time.

I wouldn't mind an exterior speaker for other things.

For as long as the battery lasted.

But definitely longer than 5 seconds before pulling power.

First videos we saw were of the 1400 racing and sliding around the track.

First GTPE videos? Yup, racing around a track.

First GT and GTPE press event? You guessed it! At an Auto-X track.

All the advertising brags about acceleration and show it drifting.

They also brag about “unbridled extend” being a “track only mode.”

OF COURSE I thought it would be track capable.

Personally, I prefer my EV quiet. I don’t mind a loud hi-po car; I put quiet mufflers on my Blazer. My Trans Am is loud not because I want it so, but because mufflers that flow well are louder than more restrictive ones and its shaker scoop is open. They are actually still quieter than some more restrictive models. 🤷‍♂️🐩
