Does anyone know if Ford connected services will be required to receive OTA updates?

I've had my car for over a month and no connected services are available. Ford refuses to address it.

OTA updates are separate from connected services.... Should be set in the vehicle settings> updates (which can be scheduled or just set to "Auto Update").

Connected Services are part of Ford Pass app (etc) and the various things like plug and charge, etc. which can be updated in the car via OTA updates.

So ... I thought this was an issue, but it turns out:

1. Connected services cannot be activated in the Ford Pass app.
2. Connected services cannot be activated on a mobile device. (Not even on a mobile device loading the desktop site)
3. Connected services can only be activated on a laptop or desktop computer.

This not made clear anywhere in the install email or in the website or the Ford Pass app.

Just FYI if you're having issues setting up plug and charge etc, you have to set that up initially only on a computer.
