This is my first Ford, never used Forscan before but I'm good with tech.

Anyone try this?

It would be awesome if that works on our cars!

I have FORScan and have used it on my 2013 F-150. I wouldn't begin to think of using it on this car.

1) OTA updates.
2) Interlinking systems that have planned continued updates.
3) Uncertainty over whether FORScan has figured out proper changes due to small base of users.
4) Reality that any change is trackable, and if vehicle has issues Ford dealer can see that changes were made.
5) Issue of double honk is a #FirstWorldProblem. Exists on all other Ford's, well known. Don't buy the vehicle if it bothers you.

I didn't know this about Ford. But I will disable the double honk somehow. It is my mission. It's so bad that its actually something to laugh at from how bad it is.

Anyways I'll let you know once I disable it. Not a chance in hell it's staying like this. Mainly due to PaaK disconnecting itself and then it double honks.

1. OTA updates or updates in general don't matter for as built. That will not change with updates. It is possible it could add lines of as built but likely they'll be all 0's and none of the previous as built will be edited.
2. Same point as first one. Also, it is no different than any previous cars. You can have the dealer update software on anything and even with as built changed it will work the same way.
3. FORScan doesn't fully support the Mach-E yet, just initial support so this is a valid point. Time will tell so use at your own risk.
4. Yes and no. This is a tough one because on previous cars if you made changes it would actually change it in Fords database if sync 3 had a wifi connection or you had a TCU. This means Ford has no idea you changed it because it says it is correct for your vehicle on their computer. That doesn't happen for every car though, and I'm not sure if it works that way for the Mach-E yet as I haven't attempted it. www.motorcraftservice.com/asbuilt you can view all of your factory as built.
5. I've turned it off on every single vehicle so I plan to do it on this one eventually. PAAK actually makes this better though because if I leave my phone in the car with the fob in my pocket it doesn't honk and I can lock the car.

This is probably my biggest annoyance with PAAK.

What about the other way around? Fob in car, phone in pocket? If I leave the car on with the fob inside, then run into the grocery store real quick, but I lock the door with the keypad, will people be able to get in since the fob is inside?

No, if you lock the door they will not be able to open it and the car will run. If they smash the window though they can drive off with it.

The recommended adapter is only $50 and the Forscan software is free. Who's gonna give this a shot?
