I have a 2023 and BC 1.3. It hugs the right much more that I do driving manually. Sometimes when I turn it on, especially in the right lane, it jerks the car to the right where it wants to be which can be a little unsettling for both me and my passengers. Otherwise, BC is working well for me, I use it daily for a 55-mile commute.

24 Premium ... BC drives pretty well centered. Off a highway, if I have lane centering on, it is biased to the right and we get in to a few disagreements. I mostly do not leave it on.

When my BC trial ends I'm very unlikely to renew it, except possibly a month at a time for a trip. I think in that mode it operates similar to BC except you need to hold the wheel. When I've tried it, I still feel centered on a highway, but slightly to the right, and pre-Mach-E I was biased to the left of a lane (where I am). It's not objectionable, and easy to get used to.

If it sees a big truck it does move over, or am I crazy?
No, you’re not crazy. My Mach E had the 1.4 beta version BC. It does that when trying to pass a big rig or the rig is passing you. It scouts over a bit away from the big rig. Now the beta version is gone, which my Mach E got the 1.3 BC. The latest BC version is extremely conservative. I wished I had my 1.4 beta version back. The 1.3 BC needs to grow a rigid back bone.

1.3 here. Mine doesn’t hug the lane as much as it seems to seek the right lane out before recentering. It seems particularly bad on lighter colored pavement. It’s very unnerving especially if other drivers are nearby.

What’s odd is I used to have this issue on 1.2 as well, but when I got the 1.3 update this summer the issue went away. Over the last month or so it seems to have returned gradually gotten worse, to the point my wife even brought it up after she had a full day of highway driving. I definitely wonder if there is some calibration issue.

I tried BC Hands-Free just because on my 2024 GT. Then I turned off Lane Centering with Hands-Free. I have 1 more day on my 90 day trial then I can turn lane keeping back on if I want to. Yay! 😁🐩

For decades my wife was telling me I was too far left. She was ecstatic when the new car I bought started agreeing with her. Usually here in Alberta we have wide paved shoulders, so it's usually safer to be further right. But I think it's just as right-side-biased when there isn't any shoulder, which freaks me out.

I find BC1.3 a little less right-side-biased.

Yes, latest 1.3 tends to fight me if I’m trying to hold a particular lane position. The torque builds up and then it wants to yeet into the right lane if I let go.

When there are lane lines on both sides BC does a decent job keeping centered, but the bad behavior starts with only one good line. It’s trying to use a certain offset from the single line, which might be too much or not enough depending on the lane width. Now the offset requires manual correction, and starts the torque buildup on the wheel after a few seconds of holding a position.

The previous version I had fixed this issue…
