Last week my door wouldnt stay closed. Took me 20 times of closing and opening the passenger door for the door to remain closed. The little plunger was not stuck open. The door would pop open on its own acting like i pressed the button to open the door. Tested it throughout the day it happened and never happened again. Went on vacation, drove to work this morning and was prompted with this alert when started the car

A dealer will have to replace the door latch.

If you see this message even once, I suggest immediate service before the door will no longer open or close.

Greetings! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this door concern further? Thank you!

I just got this same error on my 2022 MachE a few days ago. Checked here to see if I can ignore it, so looks like I’ll be spending my day off without an car. Only my fifth service since purchase. Still love the car, but…

Car was dropped off this morning. They said they need approval from Ford directly to get a loaner. Case manager said he would let me know in the next 24-48 hours. So I need to find my own way to work.. so sad how far the service industry has fallen.

Oh.... thats not what I was just told 10mins ago. I just got off the phone with the case manager. He said the door latch needs to be replaced, they ordered it, and it will be in tomorrow so I leave it there overnight. They should be able to get it installed tomorrow and I should be able to get my car back tomorrow.

Not sure why your dealer is telling you its a electrical problem... It is pretty well documented on this forum this is a pretty common door latch issue. I guess it could be different from my issue.

Do you still have the original warranty remaining or an extended warranty?

If you are under 3 yrs / 36k miles you should not be paying for anything and it would be covered under warranty. If you are over that, then your deducible would apply.

Crap. I was told last week, the earliest appointment they have is tomorrow morning. Thanks for the reminder about a loaner. I reached about to FMC on this forum, I will ask them about this as well. That would be a nice change from 2022 when no dealers had loaners available.
I’m under the 3yr/36k and have a 5yr/60k ESP so hopefully that covers the repair and a loaner.

Did you get an ETA on how long the repair would take?
