Got my ‘24 in August- don’t know the build date, but it has the plungers.
Open the drivers door and on the B-pillar there is a white sticker with the build date in the upper left corner. Yours would be June or before if it has the presenters in the front doors.

I've never had an issue opening the doors on any one of the three Mach-E's I have had plus others I have worked on when the battery was disconnected. The cars were not locked and the door modules have capacitors in them to unlatch the door many times (20+) before they give out. Below is a video I took a couple of weeks ago on my '24 when I had my battery disconnected for at least two days working on interior/exterior mods. You do have to push the door button twice and slowly but they have never failed me.

Nice logo on your trunk😁

WHY?? Cost savings? Then eliminate the back door presenters, not the ones used 100% of the time!!!
The front ones aren't really necessary since there are handles. The rear ones are necessary.

The cost cutting is in full effect.
If ford really wanted to save money, they should just put exterior door handles on the back doors and remove the presenters altogether.

The obvious answer why they did not redesign the back doors with handles is the engineering, retooling, and re-training costs are so high, it is cheaper to just keep installing the presenters.

This does not bode well for Fords long term success.
What is the over/under for when Ford files bankruptcy? 5 years?
They will not put handles on the rear doors because that will increase drag and decrease range rating. The front handles are possible with minimal drag penalty only because they exist in the wake created by the side mirrors. That wake does not extend all the way back to the rear doors, so rear handles would add more drag. It's possible the front presenters were included because the original design of the Mach-E probably didn't have front door handles, and they likely planned to have the doors open automatically when you walked up to them. Then Ford figured out they could add a front handle in the mirror wake without range penalty, and the automatic opening doors didn't pan out, so now they aren't needed.

When you pull the interior handles on a car with presenters, they don't even do anything. The door unlatches, but that's about it.

Again, the front presenters didn't really serve much purpose other than to look fancy. I had to replace one of mine already, and I agree it's one less thing to go bad.

The presenters were great in ice we got a few weeks ago. Pretty sure I would have broke off the little handle otherwise. Much easier to get a door open then on our other vehicles.

They are not necessary at all on the front doors since they have handles to open. I really like they don't have them anymore. Less noise and less parts to fail.
I actually think they are kind of cool. I doubt they fail that often and I think they add a touch of uniqueness and “premium feel” to the Mustang Mach-E. Kind of like the thought that (used to) go into the packaging of Apple products. Steve wanted the packaging to provide the new owner with a unique and premium experience and the packaging was designed to “present” the new product to the owner. If Ford keeps decontenting, after a while, they may as well just slap a “Fiesta L” decal on the vehicle and call it a day 😢

While I agree, the issue with the current system is that 99%+ of us probably have walk away lock turned on and the few that don’t reflexively lock the door every time. Until there is a system to unlock a door (or something) when the 12v is ultra low or dead, lockouts will continue. Or we can all try to train ourselves to never lock the cars. ;)
Well, you can always think of those extremely rare edge cases (like the 12V battery going low enough to prevent the doors opening, but not low enough for the frunk cables to work; or a volcano spontaneously erupting nearby 😉) but I prefer to live in a happy, optimistic world where things “just work” 😀😀😀

Checked my '24 build date- May- so I have the thingies that could go wrong, but are probably not neccessary anyway.
