On paper? Let's see an actual drag race. The 70,000 dollar Mustang GTPE gets smoked in both the 1/4 and to 60 by the ~70,000 Rivian pickup that’s rolling out right now. That’s one of the things that I think is kind of the most pathetic tbh.
No, not on paper, On motor trends test track. On paper? Let's see an actual drag race.
I wouldn't be surprised if the "5-second power limit" affecting the GTPE gets lifted in the future when ford has enough data on battery wear. It's too much of a conservative software crutch.
It sure is a lot of fun on those Mexican roads. It would be more fun with a longer time/thermal limit on the track, is all. ??As someone who will never see the track and will only go from stoplight to stoplight and from the on-ramp to the interstate . . . . this doesn't upset me. I'll be in that first five seconds off the line at the traffic light and it looks like it will be a LOT of fun. My GTPE is scheduled for production the week of 01/10/2021. Can't wait!!
Oh no, I get it. I understand why the people who are upset are upset. But for how I plan to use it, seeing him leave that GT500 at the line makes me excited for mine! I'm picturing the launch of the Hulk coaster at Universal Studios! It sure is a lot of fun on those Mexican roads. It would be more fun with a longer time/thermal limit on the track, is all. ??
Pretty much how I feel in my 4X, the GTPE has gotta be wild. I literally have no use for any top speed, since I have nowhere here I can do that unless I wanna leave the county on the interstate.Oh no, I get it. My money says SA isn’t going to get more power out of it without Ford’s help, and that means the reg GTs will be turned loose as well.It would probably been a better race with the good ole standard ICE GT. That Shelby is pretty expensive and has gobs more HP too.
I saw where Shelby has the MMe under development, expected for sale by 2023. I bet they figure out how to wring more than 5 seconds of full power out of that baby, then guess who wins.
Not likely. The software fix that cripples the acceleration is to keep that battery from bursting into flames. On paper? Let's see an actual drag race.
