Today I made a short trip for lunch, didn't seem like the Unbridled modes was breaking. Didn't think much about it until later when I drove 10 miles home. Yikes! No active breaking - Whisper mode - it took some time to get use to it.

I tapped on the top left Mustang Icon, Mustang turned, but the x box was blue not its normal gray. I tapped Unbridled, it flashed briefly, then a warning came up top that Drive Modes were not Accessible (something very much like that).

I tried over and over every few minutes, even shut the car off and turned back on, nothing.

Then, just as I got home, tried it again. When I tapped the Mustang and it turned, the checkbox was back to gray. Tapped Unbridled, setting took.

Yikes! What happened? Is something going bad?

Software glitch. Could also be caused by the battery getting low. It will probably work fine again next time you drive.

Recommend software updates.

I had just charged it to 80% and it was still in the high 70s when it happened. Had car well over a year first hiccup.

My ‘21 GT-PE did that once right after telling me it received an OTA. Sync reboot fixed it and I haven’t seen it again (yet - it’s been a few months). ??

It likely started up in the guest profile. When this happens, I’ve found the quickest way to switch to the right profile is by tapping the profile number on the door.

Hey there! I can look into your Mach-E’s drive mode concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

Sounds like a winning answer! But then why would the profile switch back to me mid-trip? I had not stopped and restarted the car …

fantastic offer! But really the switch to Guest sounds feasible. I had been trying to get HomeLink set up so the car was on accessory mode for a long time. Since then car was flashed for the big 21.,, issue, and dealer said some error codes so other modules flashed too. If it happens again will reference this thread and provide more info. Pretty sure you guys have bigger dig to fry! On the other hand if you really want the vin etc reply and I’ll gladly share it in a DM!

Mine has done the same thing several times since getting the latest Sync update. It had never done it before.
