Driver Door doesn't open even after pressing button

Is anyone facing an issue with drive door doesn't unlock until you open any other door first? I have Mach e since March 2021 and started facing this issue from 2 days ago.

Any suggestions on how to fix besides taking car to dealer?

Are you talking one press or multiples?

I frequently have to repeatedly press the driver door button before it will open (kind of like hitting the elevator button multiple times to make it go faster ).

Thanks Jamie. I tried multiple times without any luck. On the contrary if I open any other door first it will let me open drive door. The press button just does not illuminate with PAAK.

There's a thread about a particular situation where the driver door won't open on command when the rear hatch is opened first. I've experienced this myself.

I don't seem to have the problem you're seeing though: I load my kid into the back passenger seat every morning before opening my driver's door. But given the issue with the hatch, it does seem like it might be connected.

It’s a known issue, but it impacts different doors for different owners. For me I couldn’t open either passenger door unless I first opened either driver door or the rear hatch. Bizarre that it impacts different doors for different owners.

The service center gave me a bunch of software updates, and one of them fixed the problem. Start with the service center.

And to be clear, the issue is that the doors should detect your fob or phone on approach such that when you press the door button, the door unlocks and opens. But for some reason this wasn’t working for some doors until opening a different door.

Correct. It doesn’t make a difference whether carrying the fob or phone - the bug is the same.

Mine is the same way - i figured it was some sort of safety thing for kids.

Yes, it’s a known issue. You need to have this SSM applied.
