Hey gang. I am growing increasingly frustrated with this DTE /Ford SmartCharge program as it seems that over the last few months, their change has left my MME locked to their ridiculous charge settings.
So - they have now resorted to at least once a week -putting a “pause event” from Midnight to 2AM (supposedly during peak periods to save power) where they will pause my charging by messing with my Ford Pass charge settings.
Each time they’ve done this - the pause occurs (I start charging at 11PM), and then properly continues at the end of the pause window.
The problem, however, is that after the event, my charge settings are reset charge to 50% and then only from 2AM-9AM -not the previously configured 11am-9am and at 90%.
Even if I go into the Ford Pass app and reset everthing, the next charge cycle, the car is stuck at 50% and charging ends prematurely.
Going back into the Ford Pass app -it still shows the 90% charge threshold but I cannot force a new charge session unless I select “charge to 100%”. WTF…
The only fix is to go into the MME panel and delete my charge location, delete it in Ford pass and re-program it from fresh. That will hold until the next pause event.
I have yet to log a support call w Ford and DTE -but I cannot wait to get my last $50 GC for participating in the pilot and getting the he!! out.
One thing is for sure: They have convinced me to NEVER sign-up for such a program!
I cannot possibly be the only one with this issue.
Have others been on a Smart charge pilot with a similar result? It seems that once they have changed the charge threshold to 50%, it locks it for good and no number of changes or resets in the Ford Pass app will fix it.
Thanks gang.
