Saw a few posts but no threads on this. 2023.0 EA, just got this update at some point today. Not sure if it was applied overnight as an inhibit or randomly while driving.

Sounds like it will fix the lockout issue based on the other posts. This seems like a very important thing to call out in the release notes instead of just copying the old ECG notes…

side note: anyone have an idea what ECG stands for?

In order to call out that they fixed something specific, they'd have to admit that it was broken. Most companies won't do that for liability reasons. That kind of admission can be used against them.

Can't say for sure. When the release notes are vague like this, it's impossible to tell without any inside info which I do not have.

I asked my dealer to check on this OTA and try to determine if it’s a fix for the lockout and/or 12v drain issues, and if
So to please proactively apply it while they have the car instead of waiting for my car to land on the OTA lucky number (or unlucky as the case may be). Thus far the story is Ford has told the dealer an OTA caused the drain problem; and, the dealer techs are in touch with Ford (field?) engineers about the problem. Presumably looking for cause and answer. Took the car in because I received the 12v drain and charge now warings last Thursday and because my VA state inspection sticker is up this month and the car had to be inspected. (After the warnings I charged the car ar home up to 90% from 75%, not exactly a low SOC. I’ll admit I hadn’t driven the car in a couple of days. I have no electrical devices added on, electrics are box stock.). The dealer has another MME in for the same issue. We shall see.

Mike, I’m trying to keep these OTA issues straight in my mind. By bricking the car, are we talking about 12v drain, or lock out, or both, or neither, some other fault? I’m curious, what persuades you this ECG is the fix? Thanks

Keep in mind Ford does OTA roll outs for a limited time. Then they're off for months.
