2023.5 GT, 13,500mi. Literally unboxed and plugged in the Twraps charging mat at noon today, drove ~10mi, parked it at my office and about 3 hours later got the “Plug in to maintain 12v” and ”Electrical system drain service required” messages in the app. Immediately went to the vehicle, started fine but gave me the “elec system drain” message on the dash. Drove ~2mi back home and it’s now charging from 79%.

Twraps mat and charging cord/dongle were not warm, but it seems like an odd coincidence. Also, on my brief drive it did not increase the charge on my iPhone 15 Pro (using Carplay), just maintained it at 70%.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

My 5 cents - the pucks don’t activate and consume energy unless there is a phone on top.

I just had to have the LVB on my 2023 replaced due to a bad cell. I was getting the same error messages, Electrical system drain service required, intermittently.

My question is Twraps now Qi 2 compliant?

Is the Tw
Not Qi2 for now...I've been working on this and have a prototype but honestly it's not worth it for now. Here is some data to demonstrate why:
Qi charging on iPhone - 10W.
Qi2 charging on iPhone - 12W.

Qi2 price is more than twice that of Qi though. So for these added 20% it seems that switching to Qi2 now would be more of a marketing gimmick than anything useful.

Does the Twraps charger hold iPhones in the right place for charging using MagSafe or is it just ok to use a MagSafe phone with it? The charging mat that came with the car is supposed to charge phones but I can't for the life of me get it to stay on for any useful length of time. I don't know if it needs precise placement or it's just rejecting the phone.

Yes, our charger is MagSafe compatible, meaning that if you have a phone with a MagSafe case, it will be held magnetically to our charger :)

I haven’t had any more 12V notifications, and I have an appointment this morning for the wiper motor recall and a LVB check. Clearly just a coincidence that this happened after I put in the charging mat.

Thanks @twraps for your input. Really impressed with the quality of your product so far.

If your phone case protrudes around the camera area it will not charge on the OEM pad. Not with any consistency anyway.

After 21 months in service, I just got my first Electrical System Drain yesterday AM on my ‘23 after charging to 90% the night before. My back door would not kick open…oh boy. May have gotten lucky. No accessories. Keys always 30’ away in house. Ford Pass off. I pulled the neg LVB terminal for 10 and then let the car run in the garage for about 1.5 hours as I did not want to charge any more than 90%. Been backed in garage ever since. I guess I better test the battery…soon. I was planning on proactively replacing it at 36 months.

Electrical drain does not usually mean the 12V is bad. It means something else is draining it.

How does the 'system' know whether an excessive load drew down the battery or the battery itself had an internal fault and triggered a draw down?
