Thanks for sharing this. The 80% cliff is still.... a cliff. Current drops by half. I am hopeful the chargers can ramp that down a bit more gently with future MME sw updates. 40KW is better than where we were, but is is less than 0.5C which is kinda wimpy.
I’ve also read that with the upgrade to allow for higher charging after 80% it appears that the ability go above 150kw has gone away. Now the maximum appears to be around 130kw but it stays at a higher KW longer so the time to charge to 80% is the same as before the upgrade. Hopefully Ford will allow for higher charging speeds at some point.

It isn't every EA charger that is limited. It seems to mainly be ABB chargers. Signet units seem to not have the issue.

I don't have any signet units near me to test though.

It's not the car, or the update, it's the chargers. That is why I started this thread to correct that it is for sure not the car.

Even with the new curve you can get 150kw-160kw, but you gotta be lucky and get a non-limited charger.

Two weeks ago I noticed this at a 2 different EC chargers. My MME would not charge more than 123 kWh not matter what charger I used at those locations.

For reference, this is what I'm seeing for a charging curve on a 350kw ABB Electrify America station currently.

MMEChargingCurve.jpg
That curve cannot be explained by a charger limited to 350A. I did a charge recently on a limited charger and averaged over 100kw going from 21 to 65%. Your charge rate is under 80kw in that range.

The curve isn't the issue, its the max of 123kw.

The curve will look different if you start with a higher SoC.

I hope they reduce the cost considering you get charged by the minute at a lot of states. A bait and switch? Or is that too far?

My car maintains 120kw to 40%, 100 kw to 60%, and 70kw to 80%, That is very consistent, it is only the 150-160 peak at the beginning that varies. I have seen it hit 150 for a short time even starting at 48%.
