This is just speculation but I think Ford is underestimating range. Much like Chevy and the Bolt's range.
Tesla per their forums seems to, in some cases, grossly overestimate their range.
I've seen some forum posts that only get 230-250 miles per tank with their Model Y when they are rated at 300+.
Granted I think this also has to do with the calculations still being new and probably not rated or calibrated correctly. Meaning there's probably a few more variables thrown in that can effect efficiency, like motor type, software tweaks, that we just don't know about yet.
