You don't "put that on tax credit". The EV tax credit is not the same as the installation and charger credit.Question, I had the building put in a 50 Amp charger in 2021. Should I have put that on tax credit? Currently doing the same this year. Can I put that on taxes?
If you paid for the installation of a charger in 2022 at your main home, then in 2023 you file form 8911 and get a 30% credit for the charger and installation, up to a max credit of $1,000. If you didn't pay for it, you can't take the credit.
If this is a business, then you are taking any tax credit, the business is, and it has specific rules - https://www.irs.gov/instructions/i8911
