TurboTax IRS Form 8936 Qualified EV Credit Section Now Available

Forms don't come up. The interview asks if you bought an EV.

I answered the interview last week. You wrote I had to wait until the forms (#s) were available to file this week. " Form 8936 and form 8911 are marked "DO NOT FILE"."

I said the form said Do Not File. TurboTax, and other companies, have changed the date from 1/26 to 2/3 that the form will be ready. Easily checked on their website via the link I provided.

Don't remember how I entered the numbers, I'm looking at the pdf file TT created.

TT is showing a $7500 credit for my MME purchase, but showing $0 credit for my charger installation. Anybody else seeing the same thing? Perhaps just because the forms aren’t entirely ready yet?

Same, and I also think it's because the forms aren't ready yet. I certainly have plenty of tax liability to make use of it.

Someone posted that the forms will not be ready until next week, Feb 2nd or 3rd if I recall. At one point they were to be updated by today but that appears to have been extended.

Just checked TT (1/27) and the available date for the form has changed from 2/2 to 2/9.

I am pretty sure the tax credit for chargers ended Dec. 21.

When I claimed the EV purchase and EVSE install and purchase credit in 2020 it was mid February before the data was correctly reflected and ready for me to file using the webapp version of TurboTax.

I would not be in a hurry to file.

We are only on day 5 of the filing season anyway. The IRS was not ready to accept returns until this past Monday, January 23rd.
