With installing an on-wall charger I have become accustomed to having a near full take of electrons waiting to take me forth every day on a new adventure to work and back.
But now I am faced with a BECM service recall with no MME for a few weeks.
I have been forced to use my wife's Mazda 3 and have been experiencing range anxiety.
Getting used to the 0-60 in 5 minutes is bad enough.
With great pain I ventured out to a toxic environment to fill up with gasoline.
The cars highly reliable range said I could travel 600 kilometres on the tank (approx 360 miles).
Then after driving around 100 kilometres I only have 450 kms available.
I am nervous. How long before I venture into a gas station.
Can I truly rely on their range indicator or is it some form of guess-o-meter?
Is Mazda the Tesla of ICE vehicles when it comes to MPG?
And to get to a gas station I have to go slightly out of my way and it can add up to 15 minutes or more to my journey twice a week.
This two hours per month, when usually every day my car is filled waiting for me.
And people complain about 20-30 minutes on an occasional stop on a road trip.
My map is so tiny on the car's screen, and backing up and driving I am forced into self examination. No sensory beeps to warn me of people and objects getting too close.
This morning I had to do an emergency braking maneuver with traffic stopped on a highway in low visibility.
I need to be attentive to lane markers and try to stay in my lane.
I have to hold the brake at intersections.
I could go on for ages, especially as I wait to get behind the wheel of my real Mustang.
