Phone-as-a-Key is a really good feature and I know that it'll be more sustainable over time. When a phone connects as a key to unlock the car, it's also generally the closest one to the car. For a single driver/user, this is fine, but when you have multiple phones/keys, the car doesn't know which one to connect to. This is especially challenging when both my wife and I get into the car.

One thing I would like as a feature is a setting for if I change the profile, that it automatically disconnects any existing bluetooth connection and connect to whichever device is associated with that profile.

Or another idea is to allow multiple bluetooth connections (e.g. multipoint), so either of our phones can play music.

According to Ford, it's supposed to know which phone to use based on which one enters the car through the driver's door. But it sounds like that isn't working?
AFAIK, Bluetooth is non-directional, so it can't tell which is by the driver's door. Unless there happens to be three sensors that can triangulate the phone's position. But from my observation, it sets the profile based on which device connected first.

In one of the Mach-E presentations, Darren Palmer said that there are multiple sensors so that it can tell the position of your phone.

Well, I'll have 4 years to do more testing! But I'd still like to change the phone connection easily. Does anyone have a quick way of changing the bluetooth connection?

I just got an escape for the wife. Her phone is the primary Bluetooth connection. Mine is second. If I start the car with both phones in it, hers connects to the Bluetooth.

I think as more people get their Mach e we will find a lot of problems are user error.

Just keep trying different things.

It would be great if connection to two phones at the same time was available. Newer GM vehicles offer it. Really convenient when you carry a personal phone and a work phone.

I concur. When my wife approaches the car first, it links to her phone, but won't let me open the hatch unless she comes back there. Happens vice-versa. It connects to the first one it detects, and then only allows portal access to that one.
