Feature Request - Unfold mirrors only when car shifts into gear rather than unlock

Something that should probably be done standard, but at least optional if people choose, should be the ability to set the mirrors to NOT unfold unless the car is started, or perhaps even put into gear. My mirrors are constantly unfolding every time I open a door due to forgetting something, putting something in the car, or even just unlocking it. The wear on the mechanism is going to cause early failure and there is simply no reason to unfold the mirrors until the car is about to be moved.

Here is my sequence:

• Stop car, turn off power, lock car - mirrors fold
• Turn on power, shift into gear - mirrors unfold
• Turn on power, select unfold mirrors from access menu - mirrors unfold

How can I get any eyes from Ford on this very sensible request?

Given that having the mirrors fold is not a Mach-E exclusive feature, and it's been around for a while, doubtful.

I wouldn't say there's no reason. I like being able to tell if my car is locked just by glancing at it.

I look at the mirrors before I put gear in R. if there's are cars/pedestrians behind, I won't shift into R.

I do this too. I am willing to find another way though, especially if they can fix the walk away locking reliability.

There is a button on the driver's door to fold the mirrors in or out manually if you wish... I have never tried it with the car in gear, however, so I can't comment on if they would stay folded in after starting.
