Thanks for the recommendation, been going back and forth on which one to get after I lost out on the Fisker unit (ordered but my lucky number was never selected - still trying to get the refund from the charge card).

How is the Classic charger downrated to lower amps - software or pins? Unfortunately I can only get a 40amp circuit to the garage.
Mine is a dip switch setting inside the unit. It is 2.5 years old now - not sure if they've updated that.

Both of mine have dip switches inside the unit. At my mountain home, I have the white Avalanche model with the long winter cable set to 40 amps. The car is set to typically charge to 90% at that location. At the suburban home, I have the black standard Classic model with the standard length cord, and it is set to 32amps. The car is set to typically charge to 80% at that location. At the suburban home I am less likely to need to charge fast or to 100% for a fast turnaround trip, which is often the case up at the cabin.

Make sure you check with your electrical companies for rebates for installing a EV charging station at your house OGE here in Oklahoma gave me $250 rebate check for mine
Unfortunately, my current Power Company in St. Augustine, FL does not offer any rebates, they only offer their own home charging station, and you have to pay monthly after installation and be under a contract, and there was a 3-6 month waiting period for installation, I skipped that and had the 240v installed by electrician for 700.00.

I use a Grizzle-Duo to charge the Cayenne and the Mach-E. So far so good. The Porsche EVSE was garbage and I really don't need the smart features, so this setup suits me well.

I looked at the Grizzle for a while but ended up going with the Wallbox. From the research I did on the Grizzle it seemed to be a very solid unit and widely liked. I've had my Wallbox for about 2ish years now and its been great as well.

I tried a few home charging units for my Mach-E GT and I finally found the one that works flawlessly for my home, it really does the job and charges quickly in comparison to other options I tried. I would highly recommend this charging solution for anyone looking. See pic.

I just got one a month or so ago. Gets about 8.6 kwh an hour for me at home. Not as high as I hoped, but certainly beats relying in the mobile charger at 7wh.

I've had 2 Grizzl-Es. The Smart version lost it's smart part after about 8 months and wouldn't charge. I flipped a dip switch to kill the modem (at Grizzl-E's guidance) and it works fine now as a dumb charger.
I upgraded to the DUO and couldn't get that one to stabilize between the MME and Lightning. It regularly threw overcurrent codes and shut down unless I plugged them in within the charge window (I tried staggering the start times and that didn't work either). A replacement did the same so they ended up refunding. Too bad, the Duo is a really nice concept for dual EVs.
Grizzl-E Dumb has been rock solid since I killed the smart part. Hard to beat the aluminum hardware if you are mounting outside.
I also have an Emporia and like it better for the power tracking and easy power setting in the app. I generally charge slower daily and dial it up only when I need a larger charge after a long drive day.

My Autel dispenses 11.3 kwh. It's hardwired on a 60 amp circuit though.

I have no need of the Duo but really like the idea of it. There are not a lot of other options. Pretty disappointing to hear Adventureboy's experience.
I really wish they could have made it work. It’s a pretty convenient way to manage 2 EVs on a daily basis.

6/3 romex is $15 a foot... looks like an 18" run. Frugality for the win!
back pain for the rest of your life.... Priceless!

But seriously, I bought a refurbed Grizzl-e classic and it's been flawless since I bought it in February. Would highly recommend.

Nice setup. I also have a Grizzl-E and recently added an adapter to charge my wife's Tesla, replacing the Tesla system.

Nice, yeah I just love this thing, it is so fast and never fails in over 6 months.

40 amps x 0.24 Kvolts x 0.9% efficiency = 8.6 KW Should not hope for anymore from any 40 amp charger. Could be worse mine will not go over 6.5 KW average on a 48 amp charger. Thank you Ford. People wanted to defame the grizzle for that but it has now been reproduced on a ford wall box at my dealers. Grizzle has been solid ignore the lies spread here by ford fan boys.
