The hot days are here in California, and I found that AC is rather weak even at full power. When you get into a hot car on a hot day you want that cold blast immediately. Ford apparently values the battery more than people (and dogs). The glass roof also gets pretty hot as it absorbs a lot of solar radiation. I don't know how they can solve that problem, perhaps embedding tiny water canals in the roof to cool it off.
And finally, where is the switch between external air flow and recycling cabin air? A dude in his truck today was driving in front of me. That mothertrucker was smoking some stinking weed which was blowing in my direction. Is there a switch to turn the recycling of cabin air? I couldn't find one.

When you said "I found that AC is rather weak even at full power" did you have the fan at maximum, or did you also turn on the "max A/C" setting?

You can also remote start the car through the FordPass app a few minutes before departure; if you set the climate control settings for remote start to "auto" it will either turn on heat or A/C to try to get the car to 72 degrees for you before you get in. Of course the hotter/colder it is outside the longer it take to reach that temperature:

Is it the amount of air being blown that’s weak or the temperature of the air isn’t cold enough?

The compressor has to spin up, it's not like old compressors where you just click the cluch on and *bam* 100% capacity.

On the smell note, it might be worth upgrading the stock filter. The filter it came with was so cheap, I already upgraded to an odor filter.

Also don’t touch the roof when it’s hot.

But yeah, hot days haven’t come to KS yet. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the AC is adequate.

Has anyone attempted to install a shield on the glass roof to block the sun? I will have to do that because my wife hates to have the sun shining on her. Otherwise, no wife in the car on sunny days.

It gets pretty hot here in AZ and I am not experiencing any issues so far. Temps are only around 100 degrees though.

If you touch the climate control button to the right of the volume knob then you can use Max A/C or Recirculation.

I found that leaving the climate on the highest Auto setting is working fine to rapidly cool the car. And I am not getting any noticeable heat through the glass roof yet. However real summer isn't here yet so I reserve judgement until Aug has come and gone...

If the heat you are having in California is uncomfortable for you then you can try to remember to set the climate to Max A/C before you turn off the car that way it will start working right away when you get in for your next drive (without needing to wait for SYNC4A to boot up)

My wife doesn't like her hair blowing in the wind so I bought a convertible. :)

While I am aware that Ford has special coatings on the roof and windshield, I still went ahead and had every piece of glass covered on the inside with ceramic tint for 99% UV, 80% IR light blockage. I certainly don't live in the hottest region but our summers generally have temps that average 95˚ and it is not uncommon to have several weeks at a time around 105˚.

That said, these last few days that have been in the 80's (unseasonably warm) and leaving the car parked in the sun while shopping for 60 minutes or so, I was surprised that the interior was not as hot as I had expected especially with an all glass roof. Most likely because of the combination of Ford's coatings and the ceramic tint. I also found the A/C to be more than adequate for cooling down the car but then I normally open the windows for 20 seconds or so to let the warm air out first. The air blowing out of the registers felt just as cold as my other cars/trucks and the fan is the strongest I have ever had in any of my vehicles.

I would think that Ford has designed this system properly beings it not only has a glass roof but hopefully having an efficient A/C system that does not suck up too much of the battery.

I have no issues at all with the cooling system.

Lol at first glance this is such a funny comment, but it does bring me back to my college days in Tucson when we'd literally say, "oh good, it's only going to be 100 today." ??

I sensed thick sarcasm as I read Greg's comment. Hilarious, but also filled with doom. It's only April after all. ;)

I am going to do some testing today with my thermal conductor meter. I want to see what the real glass temps are compared to my Focus Electric. Should be interesting to see if the thermal coating in the Mach-E is effective.
