Hey @Ford Motor Company, please note that the 2022 Fire Season will be here soon and Mustang Mach-E owners don’t want to be blowing fresh smoke thru the air vents into the cabin because Recirculate won’t stay on. Will you please update this quickly? Thanks!

While recirculating does not work in heating, it does work in air conditioning mode. I used it all last summer to save kWh.

It’s not that it doesn’t work. It’s that it doesn’t remember and respect the setting on next power on. Most cars for decades have operated the opposite. Only Ford I know of.

I do wish Ford would change this, but my experience has been that ever since manufacturers began digitizing climate controls about 15 or so years ago, this unfortunate ‘feature’ of recirculation deciding to automatically disable itself after some time has become common.

It'll stay on full time when max AC is selected
It's in the manual

I don't get the want for recirc in heat
Causes fog on the windows and ice build up when it's cold
I have never recirc air in the winter in any vehicle
As it is, I rarely recirc AC because of how stuffy it starts to feel

So my GT window sticker said that my car came with Ford's new Ford Refresh95 air filter but it seemed to perform just as well as the filter in all of my other cars and it looks just like a regular filter. Did you happen to get a Refresh 95 filter?

I upgraded to PureFlow's CABIN AIR FILTER Part # PC99542X and it seems to do a much better job compared to what Ford provided.

I happened to be in a rental Ford Escape recently and the Recirculate wouldn’t stay on even during the same drive, not when restarting. Whenever I smelled something weird I check and yes of course the recirculate was off again. I just had to deal with it knowing it is a Ford thing, never had this issue in any other car. Annoying!

The want for recirc is to not have to huff everyone else's exhaust fumes. It's obnoxious and they are (especially diesel) pretty bad for you. There are literally studies which strongly recommend only windows closed on recirc for all freeway driving.

Plenty of times it’s not cold enough for recirculation on heating to cause this though.

I think those were done in the absurd traffic of SOCAL. Do you know of any studies done for the "normal" highway driving at 70 mph?
