I installed this today myself. Took about 2 hours.

The only special tools needed would be a floor jack (and maybe a torque wrench if you want to make sure everything is tightened to spec). I couldn’t find anything online about where to jack the car, but if you feel along the underside, there are two arrows near the front wheel and two more near the back wheels which I think are meant to mark the safe jack area. There is definitely not enough room to work under car without it being raised. I cut the bumper and undercarriage diaper with a dremmel multi-max, but you could probably just use tin snips or a hack saw, those pieces are thin and not tough.

The cutting directions are a tiny bit larger than needed, if I had to do it again, I’d measure the receiver first and cut it to exact match. I’ll post pictures tomorrow when I have the light again.
FYI the jacking and lifting instructions were posted by @SnBGC at A video look at underside / undercarriage of the Mach-E | Page 2 | Ford Mustang Mach-E Forum - MachEforum.com

Can't wait to see the pictures. And let us now how much is the trim and bumper you actually had to remove, or if you only had to pull the bottom diaper off. :)

There is a small cut just big enough to fit the hitch in the back of the rear diffuser behind the reverse light. A stealth hitch would require a much bigger hole cut.

Looks great..... I'm wondering how much of the bumper cover, trim, etc has to be removed to install. Did you get installation instructions for self-install with it, or are they writing those up now?

didnt need to remove any trim or bumper, just the diaper. Here are pics from my self-install

Getting the bumper cut ultra precise isn’t too important as the seam isn’t visible from any angle a regular human would see this

I am so happy to hear that the installation wasn’t as difficult as it could be. I have a set of ramps for oil changes that lift the car up a good 8”. Do you think that would be enough clearance if I backed up on them?

Here are the install instructions. Mine shipped out today.
I installed the hitch on my last car (Subaru Crosstrek) and it was no big deal. But ground clearance on the MME is less and I don't have a way to jack the car up. On top of that, I'm nervous about making the two cuts so I will probably take it in to be done unless someone here does a write up that shows its actually not that hard.

Thank you!

I am super glad this install does not require removal of rear wheel trim and bumper cover! Just the 'diaper'?! Makes it a pretty simple install....

Received my hitch yesterday. I don't have any equipment to raise the car up (nor do I trust myself to work under a car that I raised) so I'm taking it in to a shop next week. $175 for the install. One place I called refused to work on it and said I should take it to Ford. That would have been $800 I'm sure.

$175 is well worth it!

Thanks for the documentation on the 4 jack points. The instructions state that you need to use jack stands before you get under the vehicle. So if you raise the car with a floor jack, where do you put the jack stand when there are no other jack points close to where you used the floor jack?
