Beijing (Gasgoo)- Ford’s first batch of China-made Mustang Mach-Es rolled off the production line and is on track for delivery by the end of the year, the automaker announced today.

The Mustang Mach-E comes in several versions which are open for pre-orders today, namely the Mustang Mach-E GT First Edition, Mustang Mach-E GT, Standard Range Base RWD, Extended Range Premium RWD, Extended Range Premium AWD editions, with prices from RMB265,000-RMB379,900 ($41,200-$59,060).

The Mustang Mach-E comes with preinstalled intelligent driver assist hardware that supports wireless software upgrades. The vehicle is also equipped with the newest generation of SYNC+ 2.0 Smart Connected system and works with Baidu’s ecosystem to integrate data, cloud, map, voice interaction, payment, and other native capabilities to create smart cockpits for a smooth user experience.

The Extended Range Premium RWD edition allows up to 619 kilometers of range, while the Mustang Mach-E GT edition takes only 3.65 seconds in 0-100km/h acceleration for speed chasers.

In addition, Ford is moving quickly in delivering its electrification commitment with investments of more than $11.5 billion in electric vehicle development through 2022. The localized production of Mach-E in China is a key step in the company’s “Best of Ford, Best of China” strategy to offer Chinese customers industry-leading intelligent vehicles and advanced technologies.

Does anyone know how many they plan to make there a year?
Every time I see an article about it, they fail to mention how many they will make there. I'd be curious to know.

Does this mean I can soon replace my glovebox door with a new Chinese one that costs less than $260 shipped, after my son so elegantly plopped himself into in the front seat and slid his duffel bag zippers against it into the foot well scratching the absolute hell out of it?

I'm not angry about this, I swear.

This was news to me that they intended to make the MME in China. I just saw this morning that it has a BYD battery but I am not 100% sure of that.

I wondered the same. I expect more than 100k built in first full year of production. Chinese consumers are very committed to BEVs.

Do we need a new poll?

What would you prefer in your garage?
A. Made in Mexico
B. Made in China
C. Almost anywhere else cars are made (not Russia)

I prefer Made in America except Fremont so Mexico will do. :)

I've read they're also putting the GT grille on all models. Apparently the customers in China did not like the mustachioed front version.

It looks like the Chinese Mach-E has a different infotainment UI -- not just a 1:1 translation. It appears not to be modal and has a "Home" and swiping between different functions. Might be easier for folks to understand than the non-Chinese interface. The mapping appears to use Baidu. (I don't speak Chinese, so I'm just guessing). Check it out:

Letting reviewers drive out on a wet track, interesting. At least the driver handles it well, no yoke applies here.

They need to get production and supply chain sorted out on the next few years, then planning for future Year of the Horse special orders will probably build up considerably.
