This is the 21st century. We are no longer in the era of wandering into our local Ford dealer periodically and sitting on a barstool while George hunts and pecks away on some green screen terminal to find out if there’s a fix for the carberateur (my phone can’t even SPELL it) in our cars. There’s a whole new paradigm out there (and I’m NOT talking about Tesla’s “deploy betas and kill people” model). I totally understand that Ford is moving in that direction - I’m just trying to get there FAST ?

Haha you’re missing the point! It would be nice to have some information from Ford, not from a group of people sharing incomplete information and speculation with each other ?
And for the record, I’m not falling for that old Star Trek trope ??? you’ll have to try something else ???
Hey, it was worth a shot to see smoke come out of your ears ?

I've no reason to distrust @breeves002, but suit yourself. You can also read many of Ford's communications by looking up your VIN at NHTSA's web site. (If you trust them.)

Apologies - I never meant to in any way imply any distrust of any member at all, including @breeves002 I honestly value any information I can get here and I try to contribute anything I learn from my own experience. I’m only frustrated that there’s little official communication and support for what is going to be the primary mechanism for “support” for my car.
Do any car companies publish TSBs and SSMs directly to customers? In my experience, those are generally not publicly available, which is why I’ve always gone to forums to get the insider info.
Jim, General,

Although Jim makes me think of X-Files (I Want to Believe), I was not joking earlier.

Try the NHTSA site that I recommended. Many "manufacturer communications" are shared through there.

We've also linked to this site from our page of official Ford resources.

I know I'm risking the space time continuum by linking to a thread that we're already in, but I figured it was worth the risk this once...........and again two posts later.
Messing around with the space time continuum could create a time paradox, the result of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum and destroy the entire universe!

Granted, that's worst case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy.

Oh, I think there are some dealers that are still getting monthly paper binder updates mailed to them that they insert into their shop manual binders.

I think there are some other updates since the OTA. Not sure why not OTA yet. I got one today at the dealer to a door locking issue. Maybe some of the updates are pointed for certain issues only, but I got the feeling they just throw whatever latest cumulative update on the car when it is in service for any electrical/electronic related issue, and hope for the best. I suspect they gather these over a period of time, and maybe eventually package them for OTA updates.
