Heading up to Sedona this weekend for a quick getaway. The hotel has a level 2 charger and Plug Share shows several others around town. Worst case scenario I should be able to charge enough to at least make it back down to the EA DCFC in Anthem. 🤞 for a smooth journey. 😎

You could also head to Flagstaff for dcfc at Walmart there.

True, but I really don't want to head the wrong way unless I absolutely have to.

I havr been to Sedona a few times. So far I have able to charge there during my stay. Even L1 will be enough to help you avoid Anthem. Those stations arent very reliable btw....

I was investigating this same trip last night. Interested to hear how it turns out.

I used the charger at Anthem in early May, was only getting 31kw. Another car was there with the same result, but I only needed to add 7% to get home.

One of the chargers in Flagstaff was down and another one had one of the handles broken. I reported that to EA.

APS and EA are going to put chargers in Sedona, but no progress yet. So far only Showlow.

The trip up was smooth. Currently there is an Audi e-tron plugged into the hotel charger. Have to see how that pans out. I could probably make it home without charging considering it's mostly downhill, but I'd feel better with some more electrons on board. It was cool watching the SOC increase as we dropped into the Verde Valley. Went from 58% to 61% while traveling 60+ mph. 😁😎

Temps were 90s in the Valley, 80s in the high country.

Yeah. You will do much better coming back down for sure. I haven't been up there yet this year so I forget what my figures were for that trip.

I did go to Tucson today. It was just about 212 miles round trip. I made it there and back without charging. The GOM was feeling optimistic this morning. I thought to myself...."If it only knew what todays driving condition was going to be like then it wouldn't be so cheerful." :)

I drove 75 mph most of the way there and back.

Well, the e-tron owner decided to stay plugged in until mid-morning today. Fortunately the Courtyard next door is owned by the same company as the Residence Inn and I was able to charge there.

FordPass says I got 44 kWh, at no charge. 😁😎
Plenty of juice to head back to the Valley later today.

🤞🏻 that the traffic isn't too bad coming down the mountain.

The trip back was smooth. Traffic wasn't bad. Ambient temps were about 10 degrees higher than yesterday. Low 90s in Sedona, low 100s in the Valley.
Marked improvement in mi/kWh thanks to gravity.
