I’ve had my first MME Road Trip. I previously owned a Taycan that I had taken on several long trips (Raleigh - NYC, Raleigh - Chicago, Raleigh - Sarasota) so my MME observations are mostly based on differences between my Taycan road trips and my MME trip.
On a positive note, my GF and I felt the interior of the MME was more comfortable than the Taycan. In addition, I was very pleasantly surprised at how well Blue Cruise performed.
On the less positive side, the slower L3 charging of the MME was very noticeable to me; I joked I may have spoiled myself by starting with a Taycan. Secondly, the lower range/efficiency of the MME was noticeable. I had watched the 70mph range tests of the Standard Battery eAWD MME where they averaged 220+ miles 100% to 0% SoC. I had the standard battery in my Taycan (with lower EPA ratings but higher 70mph range test results) and the two seemed like they’d be within 25 miles of each other.
Over my entire trip, the MME averaged 3.1 mi/kWh but there was occasion, while driving into a strong headwind, that it dropped to 2.7 and 80% SoC to 0% dropped to <150 miles causing more frequent (and longer) charging stops. I realize it’s unfair to compare an $80k car with a $50k one but that’s my situation and observation(s).
