Toyota needs another recall for the name BZ4X
You mis-capitalized it. It's bZ4X :)

Maybe they can do a paint recall and paint the fenders the same color as the rest of that car at the same time?

I haven’t had a car in the last 15 years that hasn’t had a recall at some point. I just get the work done and don’t worry about it.
many recalls are no safety concerns, and I ignored quite a few.

It really doesn't matter.

The Mach E recall story was on every major news site, so lots of folks read it. It doesn't take long to damage the public opinion of a product for the public at large. With so many people anti EV or at least reluctant to go electric any reputational damage is very worrying.
Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but I’m not seeing as many MME on the road as I did pre-recall. I wonder if most people who read the (usually) attention-grabbing headlines like “Mach-E Recalled Due To Over-Heating Battery Issues” kinda said “screw it, I’m not driving it until it’s fixed”.

I don’t think I read one article that actually explained the conditions under which metal might fuse together. All fairly superficial and dare I say alarmist.

I know! I can't stand that either. I'm a Toyota fan and the Bz4x is a disappointment.

If Toyota described their issue as
The bolts attaching the wheel to the wheel hub are not robust enough for normal driving
, and their remedy as
The updated SOBDMC software will monitor wheel spinny rate and intelligently reduce power to prevent damage to the bolts. The updated TPCM software will monitor presence of a TPMS signal to identify loss of a tire and reduce vehicle power to prevent loss of further tires
, then yes, I would agree that this is as ridiculous as Ford's recall.

In short, lots of cars have 1st-year issues. It's how you fix them that counts
