So Ford officially announced their Powertrain Partnership with RedBull racing at the Redbull 2023 reveal. Jim Farley shows up in a Mach E with with Redbull livery on it and videos with Max Verstappen in a SuperVan and Checo in the Mach E 1400

Good news, I love seeing the F1 cars. Used to fly various team’s cars around the world to various race locales. Always was fun seeing the machines and talking to the mechanics and engineers.

Unfortunately, Ford is conspicuously missing from ACO LMDh/IMSA GTP ranks. Hopefully next year we will see the GT3 spec Mustang in the IMSA GTD/GTD Pro. 😊🐩

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Blue Oval is set to gallop into IMSA with a new steed. Wednesday night in Detroit, Ford Motor Company introduced the seventh-generation line of its iconic Mustang, including the GT3 and GT4 versions scheduled to race in IMSA.

The Mustang GT4 will be eligible to compete in 2023 in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge’s Grand Sport (GS) class and in the new IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge’s GSX class. The Mustang GT3 is set for IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition in the GTD PRO and GT Daytona (GTD) classes starting in 2024.

Ford Performance initially announced those racing programs in January on the day prior to the Rolex 24 At Daytona. They were confirmed during Wednesday’s announcement that also included unveiling of the complete line of 2024 Mustang passenger and track-only models. Among the line is the new Mustang Dark Horse, the first entry in the Mustang performance series in 21 years that draws cues from the racing program. A special team of Ford engineers, designers and experts worked more than three years to develop the Mustang Dark Horse.

Great PR move on Ford's part. Quote from article on PlanetF1...

Farley stressed that Ford will be “competing to win” in F1, with new partner Red Bull entering the 2023 campaign looking to build on claiming both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships last year

Much easier to compete for visitors by inheriting multiple race winning Honda power train and reining Constructors Champion. Oh yeah, having the current back to back drivers champion doesn't hurt either.

Ford has until 2006 to design and build the next generation power train as the current PUs are locked until then with very little opportunity for developments.

At any rate.....great opportunity for Ford. Curious to see how it plays out in 3 years time. Pretty sure Cadillac will have their own PU by then as well....
