I got this email today so not just Job 1.

You have to try to DCFC at least twice before July 5. I have to remember not to be so excited that I floor it right before trying this, or I might not like what happens in this trial…
I DCFC at least twice a week. I would be perfect for it. But they don't love me anymore :(

Wait - does this come with free electrons? I thought it was just an offer to sign up for a subscription to the charging service at no cost?
No free electrons, just a 25% discount.

Note that it seems to be for Early Access members who used up their initial free charging allocation.

The only place you can use the free hours is EA. You haven’t used your free hours so they know you don't DC charge often enough to be a good test.
Good point. I hadn't thought about that aspect of selecting who participates. You are right in that I don't use the DC charging very much because with the way I use my car I don't have to do that (use level 2 charging at home all of the time).

The announcement said it was offered because I used up my free Kw’s and I frequently use public charging. There’s a requirement to use EA on two separate days for 4-5 minutes each to complete the process but it doesn’t give any time limit on when that must be done. The sign-up deadline is July 5th.

It says there will be two emails: one to confirm the order and one to let you know that it’s ready to go. I’ve only gotten the first order confirmation one so far.

Ahh that may explain it. I still have a balance of 31 kWh.

Took delivery in December, used up the free 500 kWh in January. Have been using Plug and Charge sparingly since then, because in any months with long road trips I just went with EA Pass+. I am not selected for this trial either.

I will be out of free juice by Friday. Hopefully I get the email then.

We've used it a lot on our 2021 while traveling, but only took the 2022 on 1 trip, and half of that was the free hours, and the 2022 is in EA but the 2021 is not and they probably can't connect the dots.

I was just admitted to the Early Access program today (I was on the waitlist prior to this). Still have my original 250kWh EA balance remaining, so not hopeful that I'll be included in this invitation. Though I'm glad to be in the Early Access club...have to start somewhere!

Has anybody gotten the second email from Ford saying that it’s active?

is Early Access something I can apply for? I still have 400 kWh left, but may use it up in the summer...

I signed up for early access thinking more for early software releases. I was added to the waiting list. I got the email yesterday to join. I have a 22 GTPE. I am wondering if they are getting people into the early access program to ensure they download the upcoming ota. When I heard about them fixing the SSN issue with software, I turned off automatic updates. Not really interested in them fixing the issue by reducing either power or charging speed. I was going to wait until others downloaded the update to see what the results would be.

Is there any other real benefit of being in the EA program besides charging and real software updates?

I go the notification a few hours after turning plug and charge back on. It may be just a coincidence however
I got the invite and signed up immediately. I've had P&C turned off for the last 7 months once I used up my free 500.

I have an early build Job 1 (Feb 2021 delivery). I've DCFC'd over 60 times (50 at EA). Got another 2600 mile road trip starting next week. Hopefully it will take affect by then. No 2nd email yet, but I suspect it may already be working. Connected Services shows a year from Tuesday as the expire date, suggesting it took effect immediately. Guess I'll find out Monday.

Not sure how this will overlap with the BOCN 2-yr trial subscription, which expires in 8 months. Should be 2 different things (BOCN is wallet, P&C, etc) and would surely be a prerequisite to use this EA discount.
