So my May/June/never order for my 21 GT from February.. crickets turned into cancelled order when I traded my 21 for a 24 yesterday. Then the new '24 order adapter now says October. This is really ridiculous at this point. aside for a select few early adopters...vaporware!

Mine is October as well. Just so you know, "October" is just a place-holder for "when pigs fly."

Unfortunately, this is what happens when automakers leave their fate in the hands of someone that has been shown to make rash decisions. I feel bad for the people that could really use the adapter but now have to wait until who knows when.

On the Batteries Included May podcast episode where they discussed the Supercharger team layoffs, Kyle mentioned that Tesla was in talks with the other companies that make adapters (you can guess which companies) I guess to have their adapters be certified as official, but those talks stalled when the SC team was fired.

as far as the new '24's, the adaptor should be in the darn trunk as far as I'm concerned. the again they removed the hands free trunk opener, so maybe it's all cost cutting. not everyone will bother ordering the adapter.

24s were on lots before the adapter even existed. Over 100k adapters have been ordered and they extended so more people can order. That is the opposite of cost cutting.

Well I just got my 2023 yesterday and I ordered the converter today. From the looks of this thread it seems like I should be happy if they ever show up. Maybe Tesla will put our chargers before Ford sends the adapters.

There is no indication to believe they won’t show up. Nor was any dates actually promised.

But Tesla is the one supplying the adapters….so they kinda need to make (or have their contractors ) make them.

The adapter is tied to a vin. With a trade in a new order has to be placed with the new vin. That way anyone buying the used vehicle can still order an adapter. Only one adapter per VIN.
