I came across this article on the internet: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2020/0...nt-gm-super-cruise-only-free-for-three-years/

Always read the fine print? GM Super Cruise only free for three years
It turns out the advanced hands-free driving system requires a subscription.

A $25/mo OnStar subscription is required to use this SuperCruise.

Based on the In-Dealership Training manual, it looks like the full navigation features are only good for 3-years without subscription. You may lose real-time traffic and other advanced info after that:

Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System
  • - Three years of service
  • - EV Trip Planner
  • - Live Traffic
  • - Predictive Destinations and Route Guidance

What "subscription" is that?

Is it https://att.com/ford

If that's required for hands free, it would cost me $10 plus taxes and fees per month because I happen to have a grandfathered AT&T MobileShare plan. For most people, the $200 prepaid annual plan probably makes most sense.

That would be unfortunate.

That's only for the vehicle to act as a mobile hotspot for your wifi devices (phones, tablets e-readers, etc).

The nav subscription is separate/unrelated, but Ford hasn't announced pricing for it yet.

The tip off was at the top of the page you linked to:

That page is the subscription for turning your vehicle into a mobile hotspot.
