Ford is having back end issues. No Mach E's can be activated at this time.

Hi All,

Last night I lost all connectivity to my vehicle. Today, I have received at least 30 emails telling me that a Master Reset was performed and my vehicle is no longer activated. I have not performed a master reset. On top of this, there is a known issue with Ford right now that no vehicles can be activated at this time.

So, I have lost all connectivity to my vehicle, and can't re-activate it.

Things like this should have been worked out completely prior to production and vehicles being released to the customer. I know it's a new platform, I know there are going to be bugs, but this is a little over the top. I've been in IT for close to 30 years and I can tell you this was poorly executed.

So, if you're taking delivery today or who knows, in the next few days, you may not be able to activate your car via the FordPass app.

So, does your car start and drive still? If I understand you correctly.....you just aren't able to get FordPass to connect to the vehicle right now. The actual car still works. Correct?

Makes me happy to have a Fob and Sart button....

I'm soo glad I found this. I just took delivery this afternoon and spent an hour in the lot with the sales guy trying to figure this out. Guess I'll try again tomorrow?

Wow. I wish mine had come with a Sart button. ;)
At least it's not a shart button. The title of this thread does mention 'back end' issues. ? ?

hhhmmmmm, I have had no messages. My Android is running FP v 3.25.0.
I drove my MME around all day today on errands, no problems, and even PAAK worked correctly as I didn't have to use door code or BackupStartCode at all.

I do notice that FP doesn't always 'update' the range or battery percent shown on the phone unless I am actually in the car with car 'on'.... but that doesn't affect lock/unlock or start.

maybe this is only affecting 'new' activation with new deliveries where there has to be communitaction between Ford account, FordPass App, and MME Sync4?

It would be nice if they'd send out some official communications about this. But I can confirm... Tried to re-activate to resolve some issues with FordPass not refreshing, and it seems my modem is completely dead.

It's at the dealer now and apparently the service manager is in touch with Ford. But if it turns out to be a widespread problem then I'd rather just pick up my car and drive it "offline" until Ford gets their act together.

Ford is having some issues with their cloud services right now. It’s all Ford products, not just the Mach-E being affected.
Just an FYI to certain people complaining about things that “should have been fixed months ago.”

Yesterday, I just added a 2nd Phone as Key to my car without any issues. I have had my car since early June. So maybe just new activations or certain areas?

I had issues activating my car in the FordPass app until I got the car home and was able to connect it to my WiFi.

Oh okay. For what it's worth, the remote activation feature in FordPass never worked for me either. I set up my profile in FP and did whatever else it asked but when the time came to take delivery of my car, none of it transferred over. I had to do it manually from inside the car. Sounds like that manual part isn't working now either?

A master reset is unusual. As far as I know, the only possible ways to do that is in the car or via the FDRS scan tool. I wasn't aware that a master reset could be performed remotely over the air. Interesting....and kinda scary.

Did you loan out your car to anyone recently by any chance?
