The whole problem with the internet model is that you have almost no recourse if your emails are ignored and go straight to the bit bucket. With a local dealer, you can at least go there and while they may not do what you want at least you can't be ignored. If you're not ignored and are reasonable and don't lose your mind, you have a much better chance of getting something done if you at least find the right person to talk to. Even if they ignore you personally, you can still go to the BBB to get something done.I just talked to me dealer. I think I was one of the first ones to say the dealer network was the weak link in this whole process, but I am changing my mind. I think that my first experiences may have been clouded by the fact the dealers didn’t have much information from Ford, but since the Mach Drop my dealer has been fantastic. He has been proactive, he told me about the “Tour” in advance, he confirmed the steps, he said no problem in the X plan. He also thinks I might have a VIN in the next week or so. He said the NY EV rebate is at the point of sale so that drops the price right off the top. I am thankful to have someone close by to support the car if anything goes wrong. I guess individual mileage will vary.
While I don't generally recommend it, go to tesla's official forum and look at the solar panel section. There's no chance of me going with tesla panels after reading that for 10 minutes.
