I recently called my dealer to have them check out an issue with my trunk.

the dealer mentioned that there is a Customer service program from Ford and they will update all modules for free (without complaining about any particular issue) when I bring the car in.

I received the car back today and all modules have been updated. On the invoice it says ā€œPart of the Ford Model E Repair Pilotā€

for those that donā€™t do their own updates it might be worth a call to their dealership to see if they are part of the pilot program.

good luck

Wow, sounds like Ford may actually be listening about changing the way they do things!

That's great news! Update every single module on the car to latest, that would be a big help for the 2021's. But I'm sure there will be some kind of limit on it (like once per year) otherwise there may be a bunch of frequent fliers...

This would eventually save money for Ford in defect analysis and qualification testing, while satisfying (nerdy) customers, and dealers, who are being paid for this service. Win win win.

Man, so I dropped 900 bucks on my own update rig for nothing? Oh well.

Is this program only available at certain dealers? If so, has anyone discovered a list?
I have an appointment to drop my car off on Monday for some CSPs and it would be great to get everything updated. My car is stalled on 3.5.4 since 12/2/22.
@Ford Motor Company do you have any additional info on this program?

I was at my dealer this morning for a very minor issue (the push pin on one of the ā€œmud flapsā€ came out). I asked my service advisor about this and he hadnā€™t heard about it and wasnā€™t too enthusiastic. He said it could take hours to update all modules on some Mustang Mach Es. I didnā€™t press it.

Be careful of what you wish for. Took car in to fix stuck on 3.5 update (have not received an OTA since being stuck on 1.7.1 back in 2021. Dealer has performed all updates). After dealer updated car to 4.2 or 4.5 PAAK stopped working. Car also stopped talking to ford and ford pass stopped updating. Took car in again to fix last update and dealer has had car now for 4 wks. Ford corporate techs say the car thinks it's now registered in China and they say that's why it's not getting updates. They also stated that this is why PAAK, Fordpass stopped working and it stopped talking to ford servers. At this time they don't know how to fix it. The dealer said Ford corp is thinking really hard on this issue. Dealer said they will let me know when they have an idea on a possible fix. This maybe the straw that breaks the camels back

Time to change your dealer. LOL

I had received all OTA thru 4.2.5 before I brought my car in and had at least 10-15 modules updated.

No issues with my car so far (only have it back 1 day).

dealer seems to know what they are doing. They are the dealer that bought approx 100 MMEā€™s for NYC police department. Not that it means anything other than they have dealt with a lot of them.

good luck on your car.

Thanks. This is a 1/8/21 job 1 car. I've been going through this for over 2yrs now . Each update has created a new and different problem.

Mine is 12/2022 Job 2 and guess they figured out some issues. I have bought 1st year cars before and usually wait until the end of the model year, praying they solved most issues. This car has had more issues than my other 1 st year cars but they havenā€™t been horrible, except of course for my ticking time bomb, HVBJB.

again, best of luck, not fun to constantly bring the car back to the dealer.

Did you tell him it will feel like it goes faster if they eat some donuts together and talk about cars with Mach-E owners while it updates?

Being a little skeptical, did someone here run your VIN to see if everything was updated?
