Yes, it's legit. I've participated in Big Data Drive before with my previous Ford vehicle.

We got a call about this a few days ago and thought the same but it doesn’t look completely new. There are posts online about the similar studies on recent F150s. In fact some of the paperwork talks about connecting engine data lol

We hesitated because some of it looked unnecessary/for advertising, like why collect radio stations and song info? Hoping they just list everything that might be sent as a CYA measure and the main focus is on making the vehicle and UX as good as possible

he could then have videos ready to go on release day saying "here's what's new, let me show you" which would benefit all of us as owners.

I would love to do it. I'll sign a NDA and hold videos on new features until things are approved to be released. I know how to keep secrets. Let's just say I've had multiple positions where I had some sensitive knowledge. ?

Until you are in the drivers seat (owner) it's not possible. Goes by VIN, you are not the owner until you do that purchase paperwork etc.
