Thank you, @hybrid2bev. This post is extremely helpful.

My dealer was good overall. They applied the $2500 options credit and $100 hands free credit, and participates in California state programs. However, they showed me a rate sheet (whose title has the words Mach E and Ford Options) that lists the 36 months tier 0 rate at five point something.

I found your post here, they took a photo of my phone screen, and got it sorted out after 15-30 minutes.

the instant I learn my car has shipped, I'm sending a text to my salesperson "make sure the finance guy knows about Ford Options - not just RCL or traditional loan"

and I'll include the document references @hybrid2bev posted somewhere as soon as I can find them :)
following up - I did tell my salesperson on Saturday... called me back to tell me the finance guy was like "yeah no we can't do that"

but we have a friend in Ford Credit here... so... we'll see. ?

Had the same issue today on the rate. Fortunately, I know the GM at the dealership and he was persistent. He called his finance rep and his Ford rep neither of whom were familiar, then he clicked on some other area on the screen and found the 2.25%. Still deciding how I want to proceed.

FYI, here's my experience with the dealership and the Options financing.

TLDR version: I got the car last Friday and I'm still waiting on the paperwork for Options. The dealer can't print a balloon contract and their numbers are all wonky, but they gave me the car.

Longer version: Let me begin by saying that my dealership really was trying to help. However, the numbers in their system were the RCL rates and residuals even though the link they clicked-on clearly said it was for Options (they showed me the screens). This was the 5.47% rate. I provided them with the info that @hybrid2bev has posted (very helpful) and they agreed that the correct rate was the 2.25%. However, their computer program that calculates and prints contracts could not handle a balloon payment. When the finance guy tried, he came back with a number for the monthly payment that was way too high. Lucky for me that I'm a finance guy (not at dealerships) and I had run my own numbers so I knew what to expect. When I informed them that their calculations were off, they admitted that the contract couldn't handle a balloon. They tried for two hours to get the paperwork. Then, they finally called it quits. Fortunately, I'm a prior customer with excellent credit. They had me sign a promissory note and told me that they would contact me once the paperwork was ready. Interestingly, they processed the tags and gave me a registration. When I called yesterday (Tuesday) they said that a Ford Motor Credit person was coming to the dealership on Thursday to train them and that their contract software vendor was working on getting the system to calculate and print a balloon contract. For now, I have the car and am having a blast driving it around.

Honestly in the end I think Ford Credit or dealer training re Options financing is the huge missed opportunity and an absolute customer service fail. I hope my dealer works it out as they promise they will when the time comes.

@hybrid2bev On Ford Options, is it 47 payments plus the balloon or 48 payments plus the balloon?

Thank you...

With all the horror stories about dealers being clueless about Options, I figured I should probably ask my dealer about it now to be sure we can get it all worked out ahead of time (my MME shipped 2/9). This is the reply I got from the dealer:

When you say Ford Options program, what are you referring to? We had a customer purchase his last week and he just went through a regular bank.

Ugh is right. I just sent him the Options Fact Sheet along with the path to find it in the computer and the announcment and program numbers for the Options Rates and Options Bonus Cash. Something tells me this is going to be a long road.

What dealer are you working with (where are they)? I can forward that to people that may be able to help.
I'm working with Grieco Ford in Delray Beach Fl.
The finance person helping me is Alan Sanfilippo.
Any assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I asked my contact at the dealer to email me numbers with 36 and 48 months but I have not heard anything as yet. However, I plan to pick up my MME tomorrow morning. I am planning to sign for a 36 month term and I hope that I can share good news about the delivery and hopefully about "Ford Options" too. My back-up plan is to finance with the 0.9% APR.
