So does that mean effectively a lifetime free subscription instead of just two years?

Hmm, interesting. When I got my 2013 Fusion Energi, the documentation clearly stated the mobile services would be free for five years, then would have a cost, but I am now in year seven, and no indication of a fee. I wonder if this is the same thing - originally planning on a fee, then changing their mind.

So, in respect to FordPass Connect,

the Order Guide says under the Select, p3:
  1. FordPass Connect (optional on select vehicles), the Ford Pass App., and Complimentary Connected Services are required for remote features (see FordPass Terms for details). Connected Service and features depend on compatible AT&T network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Connected services excludes Wi-Fi hotspot.

That language is repeated on page 7 of the Packaging Guide.

The same language is in the website FAQs.

None of these have a link to the FordPass Terms to find those details.

So, I used Google and found
https://owner.ford.com/fordpass/fordpass-terms-and-conditions.html

Nothing.

However, more Google search revealed articles stating that Ford made its FordPass Connect services free in 2019:
https://www.cars.com/articles/ford-makes-fordpass-connect-remote-vehicle-services-free-411276/
https://fordauthority.com/2019/10/fordpass-services-are-now-free/

So, it sounds like they are now free.

Thanks for doing the research. I was wondering about this, whether we would get an initial free period and then be on the hook.
