Yes there still would be Adaptive Cruise. Car will drive it self but you have to keep a grip on the wheel be it loose or tight.if one doesn’t subscribe to BC what is the default feature of the car? Is there Adaptive Cruise Control, lane notification?
I agree. Both the sticker and sales contract also indicate nothing. I don't see how Ford escapes a (no pun intended) lawsuit on this one. This is bait and switch at its finest. It probably won't matter in the end as only a smoothed brain moron would fork out this kind of money for a feature that is about 1/10th ahead of adaptive cruise control, and it barely works at that.I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I want to chime in to say that when I bought the car ('22 RWD CR1) it was not clear AT ALL that the BlueCruise feature was a subscription.
The first time I was aware it was a subscription was when opening the FordPass app and seeing that we had 3 years "complimentary". It is still not clear what the price is supposed to be after that 3 yr. period ends.
It does not say it anywhere in the app or online. The only number I have ever seen, whether it is $200/yr. or the new $800/yr. is in this thread on this forum.
Pretty big communication failure, if you ask me. And $200/yr. is "probably a no" from us, but $800 year is a "are you serious?"
Actually, you just need to nudge the wheel from time to time. It actually detects your hands providing a small amount of movement/torque on the wheel, not the pressure of your grip.Car will drive it self but you have to keep a grip on the wheel be it loose or tight.
You won't lose the navigation itself. You would lose the connected data if you don't renew. Live traffic info, weather data and charger status etc.I might be stupid... But I bought a 2021 Premium with bluecruise.. I didn't even know it would be a subscription thing. The Ford dealer never mentioned any extra fee or anything.
Ok fine my fault I should have researched further that Bluecruise ready would be ready if you pay... I thought it would be ready when released.
But it's not all. I go into all services for my Mach E and now I have a bunch of features that would be ending if I don't pay:
-Ford streaming... A new feature I have never activated so OK
-Blue Oval ending ... Sad.. that should be free
-Connected Navigation?? That piss me off... No one even told me I would loose navigation feature down the road
-Alexa??? Ok fine I don't use it and its a new feature
-and bluecruise ...
I don't know the pric of all service yet... But I have the feeling they all gonna be too expensive.
You wouldn't. But neither would anyone else at the current price. Why would I pay any subscription without a guarantee I’ll get to drive my car?
Blue Cruise would have to be Level 3 tipping towards Level 4 before I'd shell out $800 a year.
ADAS will be side curtain airbags all over again. NHTSI determined side bags were super effective. Automakers started charging extra for them or only including them on upper trim levels. Then Honda comes along and makes them standard on all of its cars. Everyone else was forced to fall in line.
Someone is going to come along and toss in ADAS for free (or at Netflix like pricing) on most models and Ford will be forced to come back to earth.
I'm laughing at this post. Why would I pay any subscription without a guarantee I’ll get to drive my car?
For example, say I pay $75 for the month, but then I get called away on an unexpected trip for 3 weeks of that month.
Or if I pay $800 for the year, but 6 months of the year I’m on travel and the remaining 6 months, I only use my car for normal local errands. I cannot justify spending anything on a subscription that is just NOT worth it.
I could see spending $10/ month for the actual amount of usage I would get.
(I’m keeping in mind that I don’t normally use BC for local errands).
I think Ford is going to lose a lot of loyal customers with this insane price increase.
Promising $600/ 3 years upon purchase… then adding a 400% increase afterwards is bad business.
Actually, you learn to adjust.I'm laughing at this post.
Do you call your cable company to cancel when you're out of town?
You don't have any other subscriptions?
Maybe you can get medical insurance that you only pay if you use it.
Yes boomer. Haven't paid for cable TV since cutting the cord over 10 years ago. Cut the phone cord 2 years before that.Actually, you learn to adjust.
First, barely anyone has cable anymore, Boomer. So yes, I can use my streaming anywhere I go. Same for insurance.
Your response was ridiculous.
