The 2021 F-150 and Mach-E are both remarkable vehicles. I have been wanting a F-150, since they switched to AL. I finally put an order in on 1/7. I never thought I would buy a hybrid, but the cost was negligible and the performance and MPG was to much to pass up. I think it is a good idea for Ford go after performance side of hybrid/EV as it will win over people like me and my wife. The current environment and supply chain is killing Ford's profits. My truck was produced on 3/19 and is sitting on a lot in Dearborn waiting for modules. Many guys on the F-150 forum are getting fed up, many are thinking of canceling and just waiting to see what 2022 holds. I personally may give them another month, but most likely won't wait 2 or 3 more months. Ford's saving grace is that this just as bad for other manufacturers and you can't say you will go buy a Chevy or a RAM as they are hit by the same issue. Most understand the issue, though it leaves a bad taste when someone orders the same vehicle months later and they get their vehicle, while early birds are left high and dry. Communication is also another grievance. That being said, people will get over it and Ford will bounce back.

For the F-150 BEV, I have no idea how it will be accepted, I was shocked how everyone welcomed the PowerBoost Hybrid for 2021. Though I don't think it will be the same for the BEV F-150

The Mach-E IMHO is the most impressive vehicle built by Ford hands down. The fit and finish was so much nicer than the Rav4 Prime we checked out. Right now manufacturers seem to market PHEV and BEV to environmentalists and techies. Using the Mustang name, styling, and giving it great performance really opens the door to a whole new customer. Ford made BEVs cool now.

I would buy stock, barring any huge issue with the Mach-E and F-150s. I would also buy stock, if I wasn't buying two Ford's. The Mach-E will get more attention than my Plat F-150, but the F-150 keeps the lights on in Dearborn as people like me are dumb enough to pay as much as we do for a F-150. There are many dumb people in the world, like me :)

Just FYI, we're doing the best we can at Lam Research to make as many chip making machines as possible right now. If you're an investor, we're on sale. #LRCX

Just wondering... is anyone going full-tilt for Ford now that it seems they have a hit on their hands?
Bought in on Ford a while back. The F-150 Lightning though may be the breakthrough EV vehicle for Ford though.

I haven't purchased any Ford stock yet, but I did pick up some ChargePoint shares a couple weeks ago.

I pinged my other half about adding ChargePoint to our portfolio sometime this week or next. I think I have seen it listed in about four different recommended buy lists in the last two weeks.

Could this entry be a loss-leader for Ford? I doubt it, we'll wait and see if this proves to be a home run.

Tesla is profitable because they sell carbon credits to the others. That won't last forever.

I'm so mad at ChargePoint. I got sucked into the hype at their DPO and bought on opening day. What a pure mistake that was. I haven't even gotten back to my cost basis in almost a month. I still believe in the stock, but its painful seeing so much red in my portfolio

I agree, and I think the Mach-E multiplies the impact to that deficit between Ford and Tesla. Ford is no longer having to pay their competition for credits, and Tesla is forced to make a profit strictly on the merits of their vehicles. Should be interesting to watch over the next few years as that dynamic shifts.

I bought a bunch last year and have already enjoyed some gains. But yea, I plan to buy more and hold. It's a long hold for sure but they are proving they are in the EV game quite nicely here.

I did some consulting work at Lam a couple of years ago. Very cool company!
