So the lack of updates proves the lack of bugs? ?
Not proof. Not at all. In fact my “phone had key” has had terrible bugs this week!

That's your point?!?!? I can't even figure out what that 'sentence' means. ??
The sentence wording was awkward, but the intent was that, just like pilots on a passenger aircraft are still ultimately in control of the aircraft at all times, the same is true for automotive driver assistance systems, no matter what the name. Would YOU board a flight from Atlanta to Detroit, knowing that there’s not a qualified pilot in the cockpit, with your understanding of the state of the art of today’s automation technologies? This is one of the (many) things that annoy me about Tesla. They’re deliberately using deceptive wording in the branding of their products (we don’t let tobacco companies offer “Smokie brand cigarettes with the new Cancer-cutting filters”!) Further, they’re not just using their own customers as beta testers (I don’t mind being a beta tester for Apple), but their forcing unknowing and unwilling members of the public to be members of their beta test by putting their beta software on the road. To my mind, that’s knowing, willful, reckless endangerment. We already know their stupid cars have problems distinguishing between moving and stopped vehicles. What if the next accident is a school bus full of kids instead of a truck?

There are two ways to open the front trunk on a Tesla: pressing a button in the app, or pressing a button on the touch screen. There is no physical lever or button inside the car

(this is all ignoring the emergency release button inside the trunk)
Ok, so no secondary latch on a Tesla front trunk. That kills the “secondary latch is required by regulations” theory.

As much as I want to see new features added and I have lots of ideas to share, I feel good that Ford does not have so many bugs that they need to release 6 updates in the first 4 months. I am a week in since taking delivery and I am astonished with the build quality. 3 friends that have Tesla's and I was able to spot manufacturing defects or computer bugs within the first 5 minutes of sitting inside.
Apparently, there are a bunch of “SSM updates”, but you have to go to a dealer to have them flashed. They can’t be done over the air.

Just because it can open the frunk electronically doesn’t mean there’s no secondary latch. The MME has a secondary latch, but both will be released when they add it to the app.

Do they expire?!
I think I saw 3 years? Honestly I've gotten 4 free charges from Electrify America when I've called to try to work through plug and charge with them, so I'm basically already halfway to my free 500kwh lol.

I cannot openly say.

Just kidding, I can tell you but do not tell anyone else, okay?

I have not received an invitation, though I'd love one. <shrug>

I thought I was having a senior moment reading that sentence.

The car's just like avionics are not doing while flying or the car while driving.
