I have a new to me 2023 GTPE that stopped charging 3 weeks after I bought it now they don't have any idea when they can get the parts. The Ford 800 number woman said to just wait and get updated by the end of the month. I have never seen worse customer service in my life.

Call back and ask for the BEV group and open a case, and get a case number.

I used this forum to research and learn before I purchased a vehicle. I very rarely post on message boards. Usually just lurk.
The way I was treated today by Ford was unacceptable. How would you like to be told that the parts are backordered with no delivery dates. Then when I ask what my options are they tell me there are no other options other than just wait. What kind of answer is that? I very rarely even get upset and I am perplexed why Ford thinks this is acceptable.

Thank you. I will try this tomorrow. I believe I was talking to a BEV group rep but did not get a case number.

While all that may be true, it still doesn’t ask a question or seek input or help in getting the information so you might be able to understand or maybe get a definitive answer to the issue with your car.

So, exactly what was happening? Was it charging on L2 (240v) and what amperage EVSE (charger)? Wall charger or portable? What brand? Can it charge on 120v? Does it charge on a charger not your own, a public L2 charger for example? Can it charge on a DCFC unit? What was it doing when it stopped charging? Do you have scheduled charge set in the car and if so, were you trying to charge outside of those times? Finally, what part are you being told isn’t available?

We need to learn to just ignore the ignorant. They have an in and get better service than the rest of us so they can get a bit arrogant at times. Some got their HVJB replaced right away others waited and lived with it for 14 months. I understand that frustration can set in when thing do not go your way.

Have to agree when they say does not charge what does that mean? Does it not charge at all on L1, L2 or DCFC? What happens red lights, messages, what? We need a bit more info if they want us to know what exactly is going on. Me if it charges on one I am keeping it at home and using it until the parts come in.

It feels like the worst days of COVID.

I guess it reflects the state of the supply chain, and we shouldn't be surprised that it is in this state. A year ago, when my car needed a new part for the frunk opener, I didn't get the scheduled date and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived in a couple of months. The difference, of course, was that I could drive my car all that time.

Time to hoard toilet paper...

When i try to charge it turns red at the port. The Ford app says charging fault. Then the dash screen reads " Charging station fault See manual" This is on every charger I tried. Tesla supercharger, home charger, EV go charger, and dealership charger.
So I took it to the dealership and they said I need a new wiring assembly part number PK9Z 14290A

This may not help but I’ve not seen anyone offer this advice. When I needed a part I sourced it myself and found it at a dealership 90 miles away. When I wanted to buy my Ford 240 V charger, I found one 60 miles away the dealership had they were willing to sell. I googled your part number and found several options. I didn’t chase it though any locators for for to install after getting it from who knows where under warranty. Good luck.

Well, its not customer service that is the problem, unless they did not offer a free rental. Seems like more of a factory issue.

That’s the the part that is most frustrating. They told me I am not eligible for a rental. When I asked what I was supposed to do without a vehicle she said there nothing she can do and I would have to figure it out.

Is that not also judging?

It was obvious he was seeking clarification on what the op needed. support, ideas, sympathy or a quiet ear.

That is a new one I understood that it was 2 different systems and normally when people have had problems it is either with the AC charging or the DC charging not both at the same time. Cable that feeds either to the battery? I would have had a tendance to try an true and tested 50 Kw CSS not the Tesla SC but most likely the same outcome.

The unknown expensive wiring. Can not find a description or image of exactly what it is? Maybe someone with the service manual can spread some light?

Wiring Assembly - Ford (PK9Z-14290-A) pk9z14290a MSRP:$1,298.33

And then a rabbit hole with no further info.

Brand:
Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Parts Lincoln Parts Mercury Parts
SKU: PK9Z-14290-B
Replaces: NK9Z-14290-A

Part Number: NK9Z-14290-C
Replaces: LK9Z-14290-B

There is also a Wiring Assembly - Ford (PK9Z-14290-E)

Here is hoping it was not chewed by rodents. Copper is up in price.
