Is there any functionality beyond that? Same as with other cars?
Just Lock, Unlock, and Start - that seems to be it as far as I can tell.

Also seems to be all Ford offers on other vehicles as well.

No, that's not what's stopping it from installing. It has nothing to do with what (if any) car is paired. I don't have my car yet, but I have the app installed on my phone and watch. Are you absolutely certain that it's not installed?
Yes. Maybe I should make an appointment at the Genius Bar but my watch is out of warranty. It's not a critical thing if it doesn't work I'm just obsessive about getting everything working if it is supposed to. I have the apps in the watch listed in "List view" and it doesn't show up there. Like I said, the icon that indicates an app (in this case Ford Pass) is installing starts and then immediately disappears and goes back to the list of apps (Ford Pass) you can install.

You don't have to be under warranty for general help at the Apple store. Only if it is a hardware issue. They are great about helping people with issues, and I strongly suggest you go see them if all of our suggestions do not solve your problem.

Go to the Watch app on your iPhone. On the “watch” screen (which is the first screen displayed), look for the list of Installed Apps. In that list, check to see if FordPass-Watch is there. If it isn’t, scroll to the bottom and see if FordPass-Watch is an available app to install. If so, slide the toggle over so it is green. If not, remove and reinstall the FordPass app on your iPhone, then try the above steps again. Should save you calling Apple Support.

I haven't seen one on Tizen (Samsung Galaxy Watch OS) yet. Honestly I'm not holding my breath on it - the market is too small. In wearables it's basically Apple, then everyone else, especially once they got to Watch 3 and it stopped being something people bought, threw in a drawer, and forgot about, and started being something people actually used. (*)

If the APIs ever open up - truly open up - then I could see a third-party doing one. I could also conceive of someone reverse-engineering it like someone did for Windows Phone and MyFord Mobile.

(*) true story: for over 2 years I kept track of how many people I saw wearing an Apple Watch vs. driving a Maserati. The Maserati count was way higher. Eventually the Apple Watch stopped being a complete joke in the industry and stopping sucking, and that changed. That's a shame since they really look like ass. How could you not be embarrassed wearing a rounded plastic rectangle? ?

I don’t know what series it is then as series 7000 is the only thing on box. It’s a Nike Sports watch.. It had it’s own phone number which I wasn’t aware of when I bought it and I canceled that later. Sorry, I’m not sure what series it is.
There is an Nike edition of the Apple Watch. See: https://www.apple.com/apple-watch-nike/

But those are really just Apple watches that come bundled with a different sports watch band (the Nike bands have lots of holes instead of being solid bands) and they pre-install some Nike watch faces. But they are otherwise normal Apple watches.

Apple has never called a watch a "series 7000". The latest Apple watch version is "Series 6" (and there was a 5, 4, 3, etc.)

Is this Apple or Samsung or ?? I checked the back for Series 3 but I'm not seeing it.

How do I install apps?

You have one of those watches that still runs on vacuum tubes. You'll have to install apps the old-school way. Put a piece of tape over it and draw a picture of a car on it.

Make "vroom vroom" sounds when you push it. ?

@Illinibird I have a hunch, so could you look something up for me? Any one of the two options will be OK. No need for you to send screenshots, just the value is OK.

On the phone paired with your watch: Open up the Watch app (the app that sets watch settings) and navigate to: "General" -> "About". What does it say for "Available"? Edited screenshot from my phone for illustration.

Or directly on the Watch: Open up the Settings app (the gears), then navigate to "General" -> "About" and you'll also get the "Available" field when you scroll with the crown.

Good point. He may have the setting set to automatically install apps and there is no space left on the watch for FordPass.

Some issues:
  • Phone as key doesn't appear to work with a Microsoft Duo (It keeps saying re-pair to get advanced services working again, re-pairing does nothing)
  • Nor does wireless Android Auto (in the bluetooth phone list there is no "Enable Android Auto" button as described in help--wired AA worked on the Bolt)
  • Of course it also suffers the dreaded reboot on connection with USB (Android 10)

yeah we know AA is a mess right now in general across kind of everything.

PaaK is more of an annoying thing. I wonder what's going on there.
